Heather Graham, Travel Consultant at Hurlingham Travel, visited Hotel De L'Europe in Amsterdam. Read her review about it.
"The Hotel De L`Europe in Amsterdam is such a welcoming place, the staff are all so polite and attentive nothing seems to be any trouble whatever the request may be. The location is ideal as the hotel is central and right on the Amstel River.
The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and extremely comfortable beds, lovely marble bathrooms, on a cold winter's night or early morning the heated floor is such a wonderful bonus. Guests have a choice of rooms in the traditional wing or in the contemporary more modern wing. If you are travelling as a family interconnecting rooms will be guaranteed this naturally gives parents a sense of reassurance.
You too can have a drink in Freddy's Bar named after Freddy Heineken. He bought the hotel in 1896 as a wedding gift for his bride so that she may have a place to relax, dine and enjoy her friends company. There is even a dedicated air-conditioned cigar lounge for those clients who would love to smoke after dinner.
The breakfast is delicious with a wonderful selection, be it hot or cold, there is something for everyone to enjoy including bucks fizz to set you up for a day of exploring the astonishing city and all it has to offer.
After a busy day sightseeing or having business meetings the spa is the perfect place to relax, the swimming pool is not the largest but perfectly acceptable for a city hotel and if you swim in circles then it becomes whatever size you wish it to be!
The Michelin-starred Bord’Eau Restaurant Gastronomique is intimate with a generous space between tables, if you wish by prior arrangement it is possible to dine in the private room that can take up to 12 people.
My family and I very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel De L`Europe, it will certainly be our first choice when returning to Amsterdam."
