Summary

Sanctuary Chief's Camp is the former royal hunting reserve of Chief Moremi, in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Wildlife and wilderness are as abundant as action and adrenaline and refinement and relaxation at this remarkable remodelled luxury camp in Botswana.

This award-winning camp re-opened on 1st June 2016 after an extensive rebuild and redesign. The 10 bush pavilions and luxury suite are some of the largest in the area (141 - 620 m2) and each feature a private dining area, a tranquil outside seating area and a terrace pool – all perfect for absorbing the surrounding plains and majestic African skies.

Location

Sanctuary Chief's Camp is located on Chief’s island in the Moremi game reserve on the Okavango Delta. Sanctuary Chief's Camp has its own licensed private airstrip which is located approximately two kilometres from the camp. The transfer from the airstrip to the camp takes approximately 40 minutes.

The airstrip is accessible from Maun (25 minutes), Kasane (1 hour 30 minutes), Sanctuary Stanley's Camp (15 minutes) and Sanctuary Baines' Camp (15 minutes). Please note the luggage restriction is 20kg per person in a soft-sided bag.

GAME DRIVES
The expert guides are always on hand to share their wealth of wildlife knowledge as you explore the Delta in modified open 4 x 4 vehicles on morning and afternoon game drives. The game viewing opportunities at Sanctuary Chief's Camp are awe-inspiring. On the plains one may find the roaming lions that prey on the thousands of antelope, zebra and buffalo who live here all year round. There are also healthy populations of wild dog. Kids - kids-club

Sanctuary Chief's Camp welcomes families with children ages six and older.
Entertainment is ensured for all ages thanks to a dedicated area for children aged six and up and those who are 11 or older.

CHILDREN'S RETREAT
Young explorers learn about African nature from expert guides who love to delight with their fun dung facts and quirks about Botswana’s indigenous wildlife. There’s a PlayStation, fancy dress, a foosball table, and the chance to interact with real plant and insect specimens.

Dining - restaurant

Sanctuary Chief's Camp prides itself on its personalised service and this includes your culinary preferences and needs. All meals are freshly prepared - in the middle of the African bush.
Private dining is available for guests on their covered deck from where elephants, giraffes, buffalo and other wildlife can be seen. The dining area has been extended and improved, and a brand new pizza deck with pizza oven has been added.

Geoffrey Kent Luxury Suite

Utmost privacy and superlative comfort are assured from this suite, which sleeps up to six – with each guest treated like royalty, but with discretion. Named after the explorer Geoffrey Kent, and inspired by this award-winning photographer and polo-playing philanthropist’s intrepid travels, you can expect characterful interiors as well as a kitchen, indoor lounge, private boma (meaning a ‘safe enclosure’) and secluded deck areas.
