This stunning chain of 26 islands makes up the Maldives, which are located just south of the Indian subcontinent and in the Indian Ocean-Arabian Sea. The Maldives has a unique and vibrant local life influenced by a hybrid of cultures that are near by including India, Thailand and the Middle East.

The islands’ capital is Malé, which is the epitome of Maldivian culture and has lots of colourful pastel buildings and great restaurants serving local cuisine. Explore Addu City, the most southern and second biggest city in the Maldives.

The Maldives has become a popular destination to travel to, especially for honeymooners. The islands’ are an excellent diving destination with crystal clear waters and a variety of ocean life. Explore the islands’ stunning coral reefs on a scuba diving or snorkelling trip or from the Whale Submarine. Just offshore there are some great waves to surf. There are also lots of water sports to take part in such as windsurfing and water-skiing and there are also boats available to charter to go on a fishing expedition.

The islands’ white sandy beaches are dotted with private bungalows and resorts. Traditional Maldivian food is served at the many hotaa’s and cafes on the islands’.

As the Maldives is very close to the equator it experiences consistently warm weather all year round and the temperature is always around the high 80s. During the monsoon season The Maldives gets the most amount of rain between April and October so the best time to visit is between January and April.
