Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in San Diego (D)

After arriving at San Diego International Airport you will be transferred for a 2 night stay at The US Grant, A Luxury Collection Hotel, where you will enjoy a welcome reception and dinner.

Day 2

San Diego (B , D)

Begin the day with a guided tour of the renowned San Diego Zoo, followed by a city tour of the eclectic Gaslamp Quarter, harbour area, Juan Cabrillo National Monument and Seaport Village with live music and street artists. Spend the evening with a champagne reception and dinner aboard a private yacht cruise of San Diego harbour.

Day 3

Los Angeles (B , D)

Head north towards Los Angeles for an overnight stay at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, stopping at Mission San Juan Capistrano en route. After lunch you can peruse the Los Angeles’ Farmers’ Market and take a city tour to see famous spots like Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and witness celebrity autographs, handprints and footprints at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre.

Day 4

Los Angeles & Santa Barbara (B , D)

Take a self-guided tour of The Getty Museum set in the Santa Monica Mountains. After the museum, head north to Santa Barbara for a 2 night stay at Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore. Enjoy an afternoon stroll of picturesque Stearns Wharf and an evening meal at the resort.

Day 5

Santa Barbara (B , L)

Experience laid-back Santa Barbara on a city tour, including a visit to the city’s 1929 Courthouse and the graceful Mission Santa Barbara, a still-active Franciscan parish dating back 225 years. After lunch, enjoy free time at your oceanfront resort or explore downtown Santa Barbara.

Day 6

Wine Country & Highway 101 (B , L , D)

Head out on a scenic road trip along coastal Highway 101 and enter into the Central California wine region for a vineyard tour and tasting. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Pismo Beach, followed by a naturalist guided walking tour near the fishing village of Morro Bay, where you will stay overnight at The Inn at Morro Bay.

Day 7

Hearst Castle & The Big Sur (B , L , D)

Begin with a guided walking tour of Hearst Castle, the elaborate estate of newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. Drive along the famous Big Sur coast with views of crashing surf and remote rocky beaches. Arrive at the InterContinental The Clement Monterey for a 2 night stay at the small coastal city of Monterey.

Day 8

Monterey & Carmel-by-the-Sea (B)

Take a tour of the Monterey Peninsula, including the well-known 17-mile drive and Pebble Beach, before arriving in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Enjoy free time to explore and have lunch before heading off to the award-winning Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Day 9

Mariposa & Yosemite (B , L , D)

Drive through California’s expansive Central Valley and stop off at the Mariposa Museum & History Centre to learn about the area and witness a re-enactment of 19th century stamp milling. Arrive at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite for your 2 night stay.

Day 10

Yosemite National Park (B , L , D)

Accompanied by a national park guide, take a tram tour of Yosemite Valley, home to an astonishing array of nature. Following lunch at historic Wawona Village, enjoy free time in the park.

Day 11

Jamestown & San Francisco (B , L , D)

Visit Jamestown for lunch at the historic National Hotel built during the height of the Gold Rush before arriving in San Francisco for an overnight stay at The Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square. Spend the afternoon exploring the many sights of the city, followed by a farewell reception and dinner.

Day 12

Journey Home (B)

Transfer to San Francisco International Airport for your return flight.
