Itinerary

Day 1

London to Colombo

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport you will be met and transferred to Kandy, where you will stay for 2 nights at Clingendael. If time allows, visit the Elephant Foundation in Pinnawala en route to Kandy, which works tirelessly to improve the care, protection and treatment of elephants in Sri Lanka.

Day 2

In Kandy

Spend the day discovering Kandy, visiting James Taylor'€™s tea museum in Loolecondera, where tea was first introduced to the island in 1867, or enjoying a game of golf on the spectacular Victoria Golf Course.

Day 3

Kandy to Yala

After breakfast your journey will continue on to Yala where you will spend 2 nights at Cinnamon Wild Yala. Before arriving at the hotel, detour for a hike up Little Adam'€™s Peak near Ella. Take an afternoon Jeep safari in Yala National Park or a night vision safari on the periphery of the park, and go in search of elephants, leopards, sloth bears and many more of the park'€™s inhabitants.

Day 4

In Yala

Rise early for a morning safari in Yala National Park or the surrounding parks of Kumana or Bundala. One of Sri Lanka'€™s foremost destinations for birdwatchers, Bundala National Park protects an important area of coastal wetland famous for aquatic birds. It is also home to elephants, crocodiles, turtles and other fauna, including the occasional leopard.

Day 5

Yala to Rathgama, near Galle

Leave the rugged landscapes of the park and journey on to the South Coast, taking a tour of Galle Fort or a working cinnamon plantation, sampling a spice-infused meal before arriving at Aditya for a 3 night stay.

Day 6

In Rathgama, near Galle

These days are free for you to spend as you wish. Discover the Sri Lankan way of life in the surrounding local villages and depending on the season, go whale watching or take a visit to the turtle sanctuary. Wander around Mirissa, catching a glimpse of the famous stilt fishermen at sunset, a sight worth capturing for any photography enthusiast.

Day 8

Rathgama to Colombo

Depart Rathgama and journey to Colombo, Sri Lanka'€™s largest city and former administrative capital, staying overnight at Casa Colombo. This lively and vibrant city is home to many attractions, both old and new. Spend time shopping or soaking up the atmosphere at the stylish tea lounges, cafés , bars and restaurants.

Day 9

Colombo to London

Today you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to Colombo Airport for your flight to London.
