Rovaniemi, a capital of Finnish Lapland, is situated right at the Arctic Circle and statistically it is where you see the most Auroras throughout the year in Finland. It is home to the Northest University of Finland. Rovaniemi is known for architecture of renown Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. When walking at the Lappish capital, you can't avoid seeing Jätkänkynttilä bridge and Ounasvaara winter sports centre dominating the landscape. Arctic science centre and museum Arktikum is an absolute must for Rovaniemi visitors. Santa Park has established its position as the official home of Father Christmas and it offers Winter activities for a whole day.

Itinerary

Day 1

Fly to Rovaniemi. Upon arrival you will be picked up from Rovaniemi airport by your driver who will take you to Arctic Snow Hotel, where you will be staying in amazing glass igloo. Warm thermal clothes will be delivered to your igloo to keep you warm during your stay in Rovaniemi.  The glass-roofed igloos provide you the opportunity to sleep beneath the starry skies and the Northern Lights. Even though you are this far north, the appearance of the Northern Lights is never guaranteed. However, sleeping under a glass roof multiplies your chances of seeing the renowned Aurora Borealis.

Warm and comfortable glass igloos are located next to the Arctic Snow hotel in Rovaniemi. Glass igloos offer a perfect place for spending the night in  a nice and warm bed and enjoying the night sky.

Day 2

After delicious breakfast, you will be picked up from Arctic Snow Hotel by your driver who will take you to Rovaniemi, to husky farm. The friendly barks of the huskies welcome you to the local farm but as soon as the safari of dogs departs from the farm, the dogs quiet down and start to work. Enjoy the surrounding nature and sledge ride in silence. Stop for a break in the wilderness and take photos. You will drive two persons per team, but there is a possibility to change the driver along the way.

After private husky safari, your driver will bring you back to Arctic Snow hotel where private Snow sauna and hot tub experience is waiting for you. The snow sauna is made from snow and ice. Only the sauna benches are made from wood. The thick steam of the stove keeps the temperature high, even though the snowy walls radiate cold.

After pleasant relaxation therapy you will enjoy 3-course dinner in Kota restaurant.

Day 3

The day begins with delicious breakfast at the hotel. After the breakfast your driver will pick you up for an entertaining day full of activities. On the way to Kemi you will visit Arktikum museum and Santa Claus Village.

It is time to set on an adventure to Finnish Lapland and the Arctic region and for that you will pay a brief but memorable visit to the museum of Arktikum, where the Arctic region is examined in a light of the Arctic research of today and the future. Your experienced guide will lead you into the history and culture of Finnish Lapland, introduce you to the peoples and animals of the Arctic as well as detail on the ongoing climatic changes that are affecting the region.

After such an eventful visit, it is very important to recharge one’s brain and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

After the lunch you will visit a Santa Claus Village. There you can meet Santa Claus and cross the magical Arctic Circle.

Later your driver will drive you to Kemi Snow Village, where you will be overnighting in amazing Seaside Villas. These villas are designed to enjoy the nature and the big windows are overlooking the arctic sky, hopefully you will see the Auroras straight from your bed. The new Glass Villas with incredible view of the Bay of Bothnia offer a warm, cozy and unique accommodation.

These 21 sq. metres Seaside Glass Villas with small kitchen and bathroom are an excellent choice for ones who want to enjoy the arctic freedom in its best. Beautiful and quiet place is located next to the Snow Castle new location just couple of minutes away from the Kemi city Centre. Cozy place to snuggle up and enjoy the nature's incredible light show – the Northern Lights. Experience the Sea, Snow and Ice and get the direct access to the frozen sea with possibilities of various winter activities. The sea is just in front of you –enjoy it.

Dinner will be served at Kemi Snow Castle – Snow Restaurant. Kindly note that all constructions are made of snow. Temperature inside the castle and restaurant is -5ºC, regardless of the temperature outside. Proper winter clothing is needed also during the meals.

Day 4

After the breakfast you will have some free time to enjoy the surroundings. In the afternoon an amazing experience begins!

You will be going by snowmobile safari to the Icebreaker Sampo, and experience the Arctic freedom at its fullest! After changing into appropriate safari gear, the journey towards Sampo, waiting for you in the middle of the frozen Gulf of Bothnia, may begin.

Sampo, the former icebreaker of the Finnish government, offers a unique cruise experience on the Gulf of Bothnia. The union of the majestic steel, ice and the sea will be unlike anything else you’ve ever experienced. The mighty Icebreaker Sampo operates on the Gulf of Bothnia right outside the city of Kemi. A cruise on Sampo offers you the most exciting, memorable moments in the Arctic nature; while the huge vessel breaks ice, you may admire the beauty of vast open ice fields all around. Please note that floating is optional.

As VIP guest your experience will be even more memorable and unique as you will be enjoying all of this in most luxury way. You will have the whole Captain Saloon only for your private use, while cruising the frozen Gulf of Bothnia. In the Captain Saloon you may enjoy champagne, cocktail bites from the Sea Lapland and have a taste of the local berry juice and sweets. Private guide is provided for you during the entire cruise and you will be the first one to try swimming amongst the ice.

Sampo Icebreaker Diploma is handed to you as memento of the experience. 4-course lunch is served on board.

Day 5

After the breakfast your driver will drive you to the Kemi airport. Your stay in Finnish Lapland has come to an end.
