Day 1

Welcome to Rovaniemi!

Your private VIP host will you meet you at the airport and transfer you to your chalet. 
 
Otava Lodge offers customized wilderness, culinary and wellbeing experiences. It is a brand new luxury lodge in the Rovaniemi area. The Otava Lodge has five suites, each named after a star constellation. The suites have private bathrooms and twin beds, which can be separated into two single beds. The lodge features a spacious sauna, terrace & hot tub, fireplace & dining area This luxury villa is fully-serviced with a private chef, housekeeping, and VIP host service.

You will have all the delicious meals in your chalet prepared by your private chef and will be served by your own waiter or host. Your requested dinner or lunch will be served exactly by your liking, either as 3-course, 4-course or as 6-course tasting menu. All ingredients are as local as possible to highlight Lappish products. The breakfast is prepared as you wish.

Day 2

Private Dogsledding in the forest including lunch
The huskies are eagerly waiting for you at the farm since they know that they get to do their favorite thing: running. And run they sure can! Before the safari begins you will get the instructions how to drive the dog sled becoming a real "musher".

The speedy sled ride with huskies in the wintery white forest is really an amazing experience. Meanwhile one person is piloting the sled, another one is sitting in the sled as a passenger. You can change places in the middle of the route if you like. After you return to the farm, you have time to spend with huskies and take unforgettable pictures before enjoying a lunch.

Daytime Reindeer Farm Visit with Sleigh Ride
The perfect chance to see an authentic Lappish reindeer farm with more than 200 reindeer. The families here have been practicing reindeer herding in Rovaniemi since at least 1800. Learn about the everyday life of reindeer herders and how the life of the reindeer goes during the year. You will also have an opportunity to experience the most traditional way of transportation here in Lapland: the reindeer sleigh.

Day 3

Family Snowmobile Safari & Ice Fishing
You start your safari towards an exciting experience of ice fishing. Before starting the safari you will get driving and safety instructions for the Snowmobile. Your private guides have prepared everything you need for your ice fishing trip. You will drive through the beautiful fells and wilderness and finally arrive to a lake where ice fishing experience starts. Your private guide will give you the equipment for the ice fishing and you can start. A soup lunch will be served by open fire and if you are lucky to have caught any fish, that can also be prepared by the open fire.

Please note: ice-fishing will depend on the weather conditions. Best time for ice fishing is Jan-Mar.

Spend your afternoon outdoors
How about spending some quality time outdoors and play in the snow together? You can try to build a snowman or just admire the beauty of Lappish nature, just outside of your chalet. Children can try out the Mini Snowmobiles or feed the reindeer!

Day 4

Private Snowshoeing or Nordic skiing trip
You will be taken for a memorable snowshoeing or Nordic skiing tour into the beautiful nature of Levi.

Snowshoeing is a great way to experience Lapland’s winter landscapes. You can enjoy fresh, clean air, experience the peace and tranquility of nature and also enjoy some light and fun exercise. People in the Arctic have used snowshoes for centuries to reach deep snowy landscapes that would otherwise be inaccessible. Using snowshoes is easy – reasonably good balance and suitable clothing is all you need. During the trip there will be a break to enjoy hot drinks and a snack in the lovely winter surroundings.

Nordic or cross-country skiing, is somewhat of a national sport in Finland. It is suitable for everybody and extremely good for the body and mind, with beautiful winter scenery serving as an inspiring backdrop.

Northern Lights Hunting from your Chalet

Every night you have the possibility to go out and search for the Northern Lights. Your host will be checking the possibilities to see the Aurora and will notify you for the best possibilities.

Day 5

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
