London to Chennai
You will be met on arrival and transferred to The Leela Palace for a 3 night stay.
Lush and tropical, southern India is delightfully charming. Witness firsthand the local way of life, from wandering the city streets with your private guide, to cruising on a houseboat or even joining a religious ceremony in Madurai, there is so much to absorb on this wonderful tour. Take in iconic cultural sights like Kanchipuram in Chennai, experience French-infused Pondicherry and be consumed by the vast landscape of Periyar with its sprawling aromatic spice plantations, interacting along the way with southern India’s spiritual and friendly people.

You will be met on arrival and transferred to The Leela Palace for a 3 night stay.
Following breakfast at the hotel you are free to spend the morning at leisure, followed by an afternoon visit to Mahabalipuram and then on to Shore Temple, a sculptured twin spire overlooking the Bay of Bengal.
Spend the morning visiting Kanchipuram, the 'golden town of a thousand temples', which is home to 125 officially recognised shrines. In the afternoon, spend time exploring Chennai, the fourth largest city in India, as well as the expansive Marina Beach.
Today you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to Pondicherry where you will stay overnight at Palais de Mahé. Later that afternoon you will visit Pondicherry city and Auroville.
In the morning you will return to Chennai Airport for your flight to Madurai. Enjoy an evening visit to Meenakshi to witness the night temple ceremony, followed by an overnight stay at the Taj Gateway Pasumalai.
Enjoy a morning visit of Madurai city, including another visit of the Meenakshi Temple. In the afternoon you will be driven to Periyar where you will stay for 2 nights at Spice Village.
In the morning you can stroll around enjoying the exotic aroma of the spices on a tour of the spice plantation. The remainder of the day is free for you to spend at leisure.
Today you will depart from your hotel and drive to Kumarakom, taking in the wonderful scenery as you make your way to Kumarakom Lake Resort for a 2 night stay.
Spend the day at leisure perhaps enjoying a variety of optional activities, including a cookery demonstration, Yoga and meditation classes or a visit to the local village.
Board your own authentic houseboat and spend the day sailing and dining on the backwaters, staying overnight on the boat.
After breakfast on the houseboat you will disembark at Alleppey and transfer to Cochin where you will stay for 2 nights at Vivanta by Taj – Malabar. Later in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to watch a traditional Kathakali Dance performance.
Following breakfast, you will venture out to explore the city of Cochin. Known as the Spice Island, here you will see the iconic fishing nets, Jewish Synagogue and spend the afternoon wandering around Fort Cochin.
Transfer to Cochin Airport for your flight home.
