Vancouver Island and the Canadian Rocky Mountains represent some of the most pristine natural habitats in North America. This trip combines three different regions – a visit to the Canadian Rockies, Vancouver/Victoria and a luxury fishing and wildlife lodge in Western Canada to provide a 5-star program showcasing the highlights of British Columbia and Alberta.

Itinerary

Day 1
Excursion starts:

Fly to Calgary. Upon arrival in Calgary, pick up your charming Relais & Chateaux Inn for the night.  

Accommodation: Kensington Riverside Inn

Day 2
Excursion starts:

In the morning, drive 2 hours into the National Park and visit some of the regional sights such as Bow Falls, The Banff Gondola, Surprise Corner and The Upper Hot Springs.

Day 3
Excursion starts:

Spend the day visiting some of the sights you didn’t visit on day 2. You can enjoy hikes, kayak or canoe trips or scenic drives.

Day 4
Excursion starts:

This morning begin your 1 hour drive to Lake Louise. This afternoon stay close to the hotel and go on a hike or a canoe ride on the famous Lake!

Day 5
Excursion starts:

Today visit some of the sights near Lake Louise such as Emerald Lake, Natural Bridge, or Takakkaw Falls. Have a gourmet final meal at the Post Hotel, one of the top restaurants in Alberta.

Day 6
Excursion starts:

In the morning, drive to Calgary Airport for your flight to Vancouver. Upon arrival your driver guide will pick you up and go on a driving tour of the city and enjoy a 2 hour private sail in Vancouver Harbor at sunset with champagne.

Day 7
Excursion starts:

This morning, take a private sea plane to Victoria. From here your guide will meet you and bring you on a tour of this famous city. Visit the Parliament Buildings and the world famous Butchart Gardens.  In the late afternoon fly back to Vancouver where you have the evening free to enjoy some of the many dining options in the city.

Day 8
Excursion starts:

This morning go by a private helicopter to Sonora Resort on Vancouver Island. Upon arrival, you will have an orientation to the property and then based on timing have time for an afternoon activity- maybe an eco-tour or fishing excursion.

Day 9
Excursion starts:

Sonora’s experienced freshwater guides will bring you to the Phillips River by boat to access some beautiful stretches of water. Solely catch and release, fishing opportunities change with the seasons, making different species available at different times. The team here will schedule the optimal time to head out based on river water levels, weather and tidal conditions.

Day 10
Excursion starts:

There are those prime locations in the Pacific Northwest only reached by helicopter and known to a select few - let the team at Sonora fly you in to these tucked-away rivers and lakes to cast, catch and release. Naturally, departure times are dependent on weather and visibility.

Day 11
Excursion starts:

In the morning head back to Vancouver by helicopter. From here you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
