Day 2

Transfer to Arusha airport for a scheduled flight to Manyara departing at 08h00, arrival at 08h25. On arrival you will be met and transferred by a driver-guide for a shared road transfer to Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. Upon arrival at the Lodge, check into your room and freshen up for lunch. The afternoon is spent at leisure to enjoy the views from the Lodge. Dinner and overnight.

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is perched on the edge of the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, southeast of the Serengeti in Northern Tanzania. The lodge is the most luxurious property in the Ngorongoro area which is accessible by light aircraft into and out of the Lake Manyara Airstrip which is only 30 minutes from Arusha where most Northern Safaris start and end. The Lodge is split into 3 camps, North, South and Tree Camp. North and South are identical to each other both with excellent views and Tree Camp is set on the crater rim with slightly smaller guest rooms but views through the trees. Inspired in design by the Masai mud-and-stick manyatta (homestead), Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is without doubt one of the most architecturally spectacular safari lodges in Africa. The main dining area has huge chandeliers, deep red decor and you cannot escape the incredible view of the crater through every window.

Afternoon depart on a game drive returning to the Camp for dinner and overnight.

The Lamai triangle is celebrated for its annual wildebeest migration crossings. It covers 98,000 acres of the northern-most tip of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, slotted between the Masai Mara National Park in Kenya in the north and the Mara River in the south. Distinctive soil composition results in one of the highest year-round concentrations of wildlife in the Serengeti National Park.

Singita Mara River Tented Camp is the epitome of sustainable tourism and consciously seeks to eliminate the unnecessary use of energy and non-biodegradable materials. In keeping with this philosophy, the camp operates “off-the-grid” and relies entirely on a custom designed solar system for its power and the use of recycled and natural materials wherever possible. Inside the camp, bohemian chic sets the tone for cool relaxation, where spun natural fabrics, canvas, stone and raw leather blend with Masai primary colours and elegant art pieces by young African designers and craftsmen. The functional East African design encourages guests to embrace the outdoors and connect with nature.

In line with preserving unspoiled pieces of land, guests share Land Rovers for game viewing. In order to minimise environmental impact, private vehicles are not available at Singita Mara River Tented Camp.

Steeped in character, Singita Sabora Tented Camp surprises guests with an opulence that is delightfully out-of-place with the rugged terrain of the surrounding savannah plains.
