Summary

As soon as you arrive in Marrakech, you will be invited to enjoy the peace and quiet of an oasis in the middle of bustling Marrakech, at La Villa des Orangers. Time to head towards Ouarzazate, the mythical gate to the Great South… After lunch in an authentic Kasbah at Ait Ben Addou, famous for its ksar classified as UNESCO world heritage, you will follow the trail of great film makers in the film studios before going on to Kasbah Ellouze.

You will then drive along the Draa valley with its endless palm groves before arriving in Zagora, the great caravan centre where you will stop in a green oasis at sunset. The next day the desert will beckon you. On the road, far from tourist routes, you will be amazed by plateaus blackened by the sun, generous sand dunes, enigmatic rocks, improvised tracks. After meeting a school-master who runs a local children’s association and visiting his school, you will enjoy moments of emotions. 

At sunset, you will reach Merzouga and its breathtaking sand dunes, some as high as 150m, whose multiple shades of orange vary with the light. Paradise for relaxing, for enjoying the therapeutic virtues of a hot sand bath or discovering with amazement the multiple facets of nomadic life.

Erfoud and its date market, the vast Todgha gorges, the enchanting valley of the roses heady with fragrance, the exotic Dadès valley with a thousand Kasbahs... you will stop in all these wonderful places before reaching an oasis in Skoura.

The last surprise of this highly colourful journey is an escapade to Essaouira the white city, on the Atlantic coast, with its medina classified as UNESCO world heritage. Here you will plunge into traditional Morocco with its timeless market scenes and inimitable art of living.

Day 7

Back to the red city, Marrakech. Diner at Dar Moha.
