Rovaniemi is also known as the official home of the Santa Claus.

During this exciting trip you will have a chance to enjoy husky safari, ice fishing, driving a snowmobile, seeing the auroras, meeting Santa Claus and even more!

Itinerary

Day 1

A flight to Rovaniemi, where you will be picked up by your driver who will take you to your logwood chalet. Your charming logwood chalet is located about an hour’s trip from the Airport of Rovaniemi. Your hearty host will be waiting for you at the chalet. Once you have settled down, your chef will introduce you the delicious Lappish cuisine by making a savoury dinner of local ingredients.

Day 2

The first full day in Lapland starts by enjoying a breakfast with a touch of Lapland. After the breakfast you will suit up to thermal overall and head for husky safari at Lake Pohtimolampi. The huskies are eagerly waiting for you, since they know that they get to their favourite thing: running. The speedy sled ride with huskies in the wintery white forest is really an amazing experience. In the end of the safari you will enjoy a lunch in an Arctic Tipi.

Day 3

On your third day in Lapland you will be taken to an ice fishing trip. Ice fishing has always played a big role for the Sámi people in surviving in these arctic conditions. You will drive a snowmobile until to your chosen fishing spot where you drill a hole and throw your hooks into water. If you are patient enough, you will usually get awarded! The ice fishing trip ends to a lunch nearby the lake.

When the darkness falls towards to evening and the stars come out, you will head out to seek the northern lights. The best circumstances to see the auroras are such where you have as little light pollution as possible. Thus you will head out to a wintery forest on sleigh pulled by reindeers. You will first enjoy a dinner in the reindeer farm before starting the safari. The starry northern sky is already a magical experience and hopefully the nature will bless you by blazing out the northern lights.

Day 4

Today you will finally meet the Father Christmas. Be sure you have your questions pre-made and your throats relaxed for singing Christmas carols before Santa arrives with his sleigh and reindeers.

In the afternoon you get to test your creativity in Finnish Christmas tradition of gingerbread house baking. There is no limit in using your imagination in building the most peculiar houses possible.

In the evening it is time to sum up all the wonderful experiences by a farewell dinner in the chalet.

Day 5

You will enjoy the last Lappish breakfast at the chalet before your driver takes you to airport for return flight.
