The restaurant Refectorio, proud holder of a Michelin Star since 2014, works with local produce and suppliers for its gastronomic offering, which is at the forefront of creative contemporary cuisine. It also holds two Repsol Suns.

In 2020, Refectorio was awarded its first Michelin Green Star, symbolised by a five-leaf clover. This prestigious prize has also been conferred to other leading restaurants in Spain, in recognition of their commitment to sustainability and environmentally-friendly practices.

Open from Wednesday to Saturday for dinner service, and Sundays for lunch service. The restaurant Refectorio is open to children over 8 years old.

A unique experience and a complimentary nod to tradition, craftsmanship, gastronomy and nature. A terrace immersed in nature and on the banks of the Douro River, with views of the pine forest and vineyards. Its name, Calicata [Test Pit], comes from a technical term widely used among wine experts to refer to the land where the vines are planted. It consists of studying the earth using a drill or probe to find out which minerals it contains.

Based on produce from the local area and the estate’s own organic vegetable garden, which maintains the essence of the original created by the monks who lived in Abadía Retuerta more than eight centuries ago. And all accompanied either by its own wines or those produced in other regions, a chance to taste and discover their aromas and nuances in order to experience and understand how the climate, the variety of the grape and the land give them their individual character and personality.

Let yourself be pampered in a space devoted to wellness, a spa quite unlike any other. Santuario Wellness & Spa was opened in 2015, and it is located underground, in the former stables area, with several light sources that guarantee 80% natural light. It spans over a thousand square metres, with water extracted from a 120-metre deep well.  This  water is  decalcified,  and,  after undergoing reverse osmosis, it is stored in a 120,000-litre tank. The result is a high-quality drinking water,  similar to natural mineral water.

Abadía Retuerta has received multiple accolades for its approach to wellness. Recently, it was named "Best Luxury Historical Spa" in Europe at the latest edition of the World Luxury Spa Awards, held in October 2022. It also won the prizes for Best New Spa & Wellness Property and Best for Wow Factor, at the 2016 Wellness Travel Awards.

SPA Sommelier  
The "Spa Sommelier" is there to advise guests about thermal treatments, and he designs experiences based on their needs. He can also lead guests in a blind tasting of wines, and try different essential oils.

Outdoor Pool
Take a plunge in this pool of sensations, where you can hear birdsong, enjoy the aromas of lavender and grapevines, and contemplate the magnificent 12th-century abbey.

Yoga
Yoga classes of minimum 60 minutes, adjusted to every level of experience and to each guest’s physical needs and personal preferences. This activity may be smooth or more dynamic, it may include postexercise specific stretching or even specific postures to help prevent and ease physical pain.

Water Yoga
Class held in the heated indoor pool. It includes a combination of Yoga, Mindfulness and Relaxation in the water. The postures will be adjusted to all levels.

Mindfulness
Millenary technique in which we focus on being intensely aware of what we are sensing and feeling in the moment. Practicing mindfulness involves breathing methods, guided meditation, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress.
