A quintessentially English estate overlooking the Surrey Hills, a place to indulge, relax, and celebrate, and the former home of celebrated publisher and backstage politician, 1st Baron Beaverbrook. There's more to the Beaverbrook Estate than meets the eye.
The House
Take the time to explore the grandeur of The House and its beguiling history, walking in the footsteps of the beau monde guests of Beaverbrook’s past. With 18 charming bedrooms - each named after their bygone occupants – a restaurant, bar, library, morning room, cinema and magnificent Victorian staircase bathed in natural light from an original domed atrium, the charismatic character of The House will make you wish the walls could speak.
Discover a wealth of historical treasures, memorabilia and fine artworks on display in the lobby and public rooms of The House, which has been sympathetically restored to Lord Beaverbrook’s era. Browse through his original collection of leather-bound books in the quiet serenity of the library, pleasantly warmed by a log fire in the winter months; take morning coffee in the elegant splendor of the spacious morning room; enjoy a fine cocktail or any refreshment of your choice in the opulence of Sir Frank’s Bar, or step out to the terrace and feast your eyes on superb views across finely manicured estate lawns and gardens and the Surry Hills beyond; experience exquisite fine dining at The Japanese Grill, or sit back and enjoy a classic film in Britain’s first home cinema – where Lord Beaverbrook and Winston Churchill shared many happy hours together.
The Garden House
Nestled beside the estate’s traditional walled kitchen garden, with peaceful woodland views, The Garden House exudes English Country Cottage charm. The garden has not outgrown its original purpose, and is abundant with fruit trees, vegetables, herbs and edible and non-edible flowers, and has year-round visual appeal. Its bountiful produce is used throughout the estate, providing the freshest fare for Beaverbrook’s three restaurants.
The Garden House offers 11 comfortable bedrooms featuring a rich collection of botanical themed artwork, country farmhouse-inspired furniture, and historical treasures. Dog-friendly rooms are located in a separate cottage set within the walled garden itself, and is available to book in its entirety.
The Coach House
Textured wallpaper, pastel furnishings, and patterned fabrics; The Coach House rooms and suites, designed by sought after interiors specialist Susie Atkinson, are rurally inspired, and whimsically sophisticated. Situated behind the spa complex, this accommodation benefits from private access, and can be interconnected for groups of guests, making this area of the estate very popular with families. Feel free to bring your four-legged friends with you to stay in The Coach House Garden suites.
Nestled in Leatherhead, the heart of the Surrey Hills, Beaverbrook is only 20 miles from London. It takes about 40 minutes by train or an hour to drive from London.
