Take a mindful hike on one of our private themed trails
Feel the rhythm of the season by hiking past hundred-year-old oaks and towering cedars on the private trails of “Love,” “Hope,” and “Joy.” At each summit, you will find a custom bench built by the resort's very own Head Groundskeeper Juan Luis for taking in sweeping views of the valley. You will also find a special handmade leather journal (housed in a little wooden "library") to share your thoughts on love, hope, and joy on each respective trail for future trail hikers and fellow friends of nature to read.

Start your morning with a meet, greet and stretch. Learn the deep-rooted history of Calistoga Ranch and the man behind Davis Estates Winery on your guided forest hike, which winds past ancient oaks and a rock-hewn stream. At the 155-acre estate, you’ll take in sweeping views of the northern Napa Valley. Enjoy a private tour of the state-of-the-art facilities followed by a wine and food pairing around an elegant Monkeypod table.

Enjoy a custom wine tour in the luxurious comfort of a 1947 Packard convertible limousine. Your driver doubles as your personal wine guide, taking you behind the scenes to meet the people, winemakers, and families behind lesser-known, small boutique wineries throughout the valley. You’ll have the opportunity to walk through vineyards, explore caves and taste world-class wines, followed by a gourmet picnic lunch at a scenic spot.

Ask the concierge to customize your sip and cycle excersion, which may include barrel tasting, viewing a world-class art collection and enjoying wine and food pairings. Cycle quiet country lanes with your tour guide, listening in on local history, before reaching your first winery. Most roads will be fairly flat and easy—suitable for occasional riders to road racers.

Salon D'Art presents an intimate and inspirational art event, paired with a wine & cheese tasting at the Friday night Wine Reception, and the opportunity to add to your private collection. Go on a wine country safari tour
Enjoy a BBQ lunch at Safari West, a private wildlife preserve in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountain that’s home to nearly 900 animals from over 90 unique species. Climb aboard one of the custom safari vehicles with one of Safari West’s highly-trained guides to go in search of graceful giraffes, imposing cape buffalo and hulking rhinoceros. The tour ends with a guided introduction to African cheetahs, lemurs, giant porcupines and more.

Horseback ride through picturesque wine country
Established in 1962,Thunderbird Ranch has a frontier-town setting, with a general store/saloon, 100-plus-year-old barn, railroad depot and two 1926 vintage railroad cars. And like all frontier towns, there are plenty of horses. You’ll be paired with a trail horse appropriate to your skill level and practice on the ranch before hitting the trails of the lush Alexander Valley. Return to enjoy a picnic on-site at Thunderbird Ranch. Triple Creek Horse Outfit also offers guided trail rides that wind through open oak woodlands and through shady groves of tall redwoods in Jack London Historic State Park.

Using green foliage right from our 157-acre estate, along with blooms that have been brought in by local vendors, you’ll master the art of floral design with practical and easy-to-follow demonstrations. In a naturally inspiring setting, you’ll learn the best techniques for cutting and arranging, how to choose an appropriate container, plus tips for how to keep creations looking fresh. Adorn your lodge with your floral arrangement or gift it as a warm gesture to a friend or loved one. Then use your newly acquired skills to create beautiful arrangements when you return home.

Play beekeeper for a day
Safely suited in face coverings, you’ll join the Resident Beekeeper on a visit to on-site beehive, roaring with 60,000 bees. Learn how bees make honey and the steps to harvesting it, from uncapping wax-sealed honeycomb to filtering and bottling the amber-coloured end product. You’ll also learn all bees do for the vegetables and flowers in the Napa Valley and the importance of their survival.

Adventures for the youngest guests
From harvesting eggs from our chicken coop and tending to the beehives, to meeting the resident goats and exploring the secret gardens, the kids’ programming revolves around back-to-the-land experiences. Soar from one giant redwood to another on an unforgettable zip line adventure. For the biggest thrills, choose the Treetops Tour for zip lines that reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour, 250 feet above the forest floor. Those looking for a more leisurely pace can opt for the Forest Flight Tour for zip lines that reach 30 miles per hour, 200 feet above the forest floor. For an epic experience, zip line at night for stargazing from tree top platforms.
