Summary

Located in a fortress built for the surveillance of the Bay of Palma, Cap Rocat posed a great challenge in terms of its restoration, which involved transforming the facilities

into a hotel as well as complying with the strict regulations governing a building declared a Heritage Asset and listed as a National Monument. The fortress lies within a Protected Natural Area and blends perfectly into the landscape. Cap Rocat has been completely renovated by Antonio Obrador with the utmost respect for its unique architecture and its natural surroundings. The project has received the Europa Nostra Award, among other accolades.

Inside the peaceful and cool lounges, Antonio Obrador uses local fabrics, Moroccan rugs and vintage black and white photos of Mallorca to brilliant effect. Cap Rocat is all about simple luxury, identity and a complete lack of ostentation.

Food, understood as a simple luxury, is an integral part of Cap Rocat’s daily life, from breakfast, which can be served in the private patio of the suites, to an intimate private dinner, which can be served in one of many areas that are set up daily in and around Cap Rocat.

Location

The hotel is located in an incomparable setting, at the end of a nature reserve with stunning views over the Bay of Palma.

Cap Rocat is just 25 minutes by car from Palma, its shops, art galleries, the Royal Palace of La Almudaina and the Cathedral.

Palma Mallorca Airport (PMI) is about 14 km away from the hotel, and it takes about 20 minutes to drive.

Come to the edge of Caló de la Reina to laugh and enjoy the sun and the light, to enjoy the summer and the company of friends. A deliciously grilled fish, a glass of wine. This is life, this is summer, this is Majorca.

Wellness - wellness

The spa carved out of the depths of the rocks, the most sheltered place in the fortress, is the setting for a hedonistic voyage that aims to reconnect you with your own sensations.

You’ve probably never dreamt of blue skies that chase away the gloom and clamour for its minute of glory. You slowly take the plunge, emptying the air from your lungs to release the weight and lighten the load, and upon emerging, the rays of the Mediterranean sun caress your face. You lean back against the stone wall.

Suite El Cabo

The place where the last arm of land sticks into the sea, or where the sea touches land for the first time.

This magnificent suite takes its name from the cape where the Cap Rocat fortress is located. The interior is divided into three sections with interconnecting vaulted ceilings, forming an open-plan and free-flowing space with no separating doors.

The room itself, where the dominating features are the wide vaults of the ceilings and the shades of Mediterranean white, has an elegant canopied bed and a sitting area with two large armchairs and a three-seater sofa – as well as a coffee table and desk.
The enormous bathroom, designed for ultimate wellness, is not unlike a small private spa, offering guests the ideal environment where they can pamper themselves.

The Suite El Cabo has three terraces at different levels, a private swimming pool with landscaped areas, and a gazebo from where guests can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Bay of Palma and be soothed by the breeze.

Sentinels

No one can see you in this secret nook, no one knows you are here or what you are doing...

These Sentinel rooms have been dug out of the rock at ancient defensive positions, where the cannons were hidden. Their marble floors, rough-hewn stone walls and wooden ceilings give them a one-of-a-kind natural look. Each room has a small desk, two armchairs and a table. The rooms have two bathrooms (one with a shower and the other with a bath) with mirrored doors so that guests can always see the reflection of the sea.

A small private pool, hammocks, table and chairs. The outdoor terraces are at the edge of the cliffs to allow guests to enjoy the views and incredible sunsets. Absolute privacy.
