Located in a fortress built for the surveillance of the Bay of Palma, Cap Rocat posed a great challenge in terms of its restoration, which involved transforming the facilities
into a hotel as well as complying with the strict regulations governing a building declared a Heritage Asset and listed as a National Monument. The fortress lies within a Protected Natural Area and blends perfectly into the landscape. Cap Rocat has been completely renovated by Antonio Obrador with the utmost respect for its unique architecture and its natural surroundings. The project has received the Europa Nostra Award, among other accolades.
Inside the peaceful and cool lounges, Antonio Obrador uses local fabrics, Moroccan rugs and vintage black and white photos of Mallorca to brilliant effect. Cap Rocat is all about simple luxury, identity and a complete lack of ostentation.
Food, understood as a simple luxury, is an integral part of Cap Rocat’s daily life, from breakfast, which can be served in the private patio of the suites, to an intimate private dinner, which can be served in one of many areas that are set up daily in and around Cap Rocat.
The hotel is located in an incomparable setting, at the end of a nature reserve with stunning views over the Bay of Palma.
Cap Rocat is just 25 minutes by car from Palma, its shops, art galleries, the Royal Palace of La Almudaina and the Cathedral.
Palma Mallorca Airport (PMI) is about 14 km away from the hotel, and it takes about 20 minutes to drive.
