The library: On the first floor of Fjällnäs’s magnificent main building, there is a room for solitude and focus. With the library as a source of inspiration, up to 20 people can carry out anything from small group projects to presentations that are packed with excitement.

Lake Bolagen cabin: Above the tree line, high up besides the mountain lake Bolagen is Fjällnäs’s very own log cabin. The cabin was a gift from the Sami people more than 80 years ago and is the perfect framing for special occasions. For up to 8 people.

Mountain biking above the tree line

The area around Fjällnäs is considered one of the country’s best areas for mountain biking. The paths make their way up above the tree line where you can quickly bike between the mountain tops. There are possibilities for guided cycle trips where you get to experience the best cycle paths that can be hard to find on your own.

Hiking

To stride over the mountains, swamps and moors is what the guests do a lot of at Fjällnäs. Why not start a hike by rowing over the Malmagen lake to reach the mountain area in a couple of minutes. Fjällnäs’s own majestic mountain top Storvigeln, which at 1561 metres is the highest in the area, could well be a stage for the day. There are plenty of roaming reindeer. There are also musk ox, wolverines, wolves and bears in this area.

Fishing

There are several fishing waters to choose from close by the hotel. Everything from easily accessible places to water that is harder to find. There are also excellent opportunities for beginners to fly-fishing to practice their casting techniques right by the hotel.

Wild-skiing in unspoilt nature

The mountains that surround Fjällnäs are excellent for wild-skiing. You make your way quickly up the bare mountain region above the tree line and you ski practically silently whilst you have a splendid view over the Swedish and Norwegian wide open spaces. The possibilities for wild-skiing are infinite here and the vast expanse of mountains offers various experiences where the snowfall, wind-force and sunshine create new experiences daily.
