The Four Seasons Hampshire is nestled on Dogmersfield Park estate in a Georgian Manor house built in 1728. The estate, which dates back to Saxon times, was first cited in the Doomsday Book of 1086 and was where Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon first met.
HWO Architects and Richmond International designers revived the building from ruins and have since resurrected its unique features, such as the marble mantelpiece in the entrance hall. The interior incorporates classical architectural details and traditional English furnishings. The manor house has Georgian style period features, including extra wings and a conservatory pool.
The hotel has 133 rooms, which comprises 111 guest rooms and 22 suites. Situated in 500-acres of extensive grounds, the hotel enjoys enclosed gardens, lawns, stables and a canal. The Hampshire Four Seasons has renovated the stable block into a luxury spa, which includes treatment rooms, two swimming pools and a patio. The design of the main pool was fitted with a glass enclosure, which was inspired by an 18th-century conservatory. The library of Sir Henry Mildmay, one of the 18-century Lords of the manor, has been reformed as a bar and lounge area. Next door to the spa in one of the hotel’s two new wings is a restaurant by Peter Inston Design. The Grand manor room overlooks the 500 acres of rolling hills and parkland.
