Giraffe Manor is a peaceful retreat to start or end a safari in East Africa and has become an icon of Nairobi’s historical landscape.

Located in the leafy suburbs of Langata on a 140 acre sanctuary, Giraffe Manor offers a unique opportunity to meet the eleven resident giraffe, all of whom are the endangered Rothschild species.

Close up encounters with the semi-habituated giraffe, as they put their heads through the windows at breakfast, creates an unforgettable memory for guests of all ages as the giraffe are always keen to be hand fed!

Originally built in the 1930s, Giraffe Manor was modeled on a Scottish hunting lodge, and influenced by the fashion of the day. Giraffe Manor has just 6 bedrooms, one of which is suitable for children.
Room Types:
Betty’s Room: double room with fabulous 1930s décor; en-suite Art Deco bathroom; in-room fireplace.
Daisy’s Room: two large single beds with overhead canopies; en-suite shower room.
Jock’s Room: twin queen size beds with beautiful silk covers; en-suite bathroom (with shower & bath); in-room fireplace.
Marlon’s Room: twin beds with stunning green silk covers which complement the lavish silk curtains; en-suite shower room.
Lynne’s Room: double bed; exquisite décor; en-suite bathroom.
Karen Blixen suite/Annex: family room; accessed from the formal garden; ground floor with large double bed and a mezzanine deck with two twin beds accessed via spiral staircase from the main ground floor bedroom; chill out area below the deck, ideal for children to watch DVDs; large en-suite bathroom with both shower and bath;accessible for wheelchair users.
