The hotel's restaurant, bar and lounge have been designed to complement Lima's excellent restaurants; a place for traditional service and excellent Peruvian cuisine in a light informal presentation with a feeling of Old Lima. Various service areas offer private settings for guests combined with venues open to Limeños.

The menu is a blend of traditional Peruvian ingredients and Mediterranean flavors. The food is straightforward and accessible. The cooking emphasizes traditional technique, the classics updated to enhance the taste clarity of their primary ingredients.

Dining Room
Done up in dark woods, with a long bar and intimate, marble top bistro tables, Hotel B’s in house eatery feels like an Old World European café where Hemingway would feel quite at home, yet offers inventive Peruvian-Mediterranean small plates, such as charcoal-grilled octopus and crostini with avocado and anchovies, as well as comfort foods like Pepper loin medallion with escalibada. Pair dishes by day or evening with Peruvian Piscos, pints of Peruvian craft beer or South American wine by the glass. Aside from all day dining service, guests are invited to partake in el lonche, as high society Peruvian teatime is known, included in the price of a stay.

A legacy of the English influence in Peru during the nineteenth century following independence, El Lonche, as Peruvians came to call their afternoon teatime, remains an important ritual in Lima’s political and social circles. Just as Limeñas do in their own homes, Hotel B guests are invited to drop in and linger over relaxed conversations with friends and fellow travelers in the Dining Room with its cozy, street front terrace, on the plump couches in La Sala, surrounded by a world of literature in La Biblioteca or among the greenery on El Patio. Italian coffee, a selection of green and black teas, homemade Peruvian hot chocolate from a family recipe plus fresh seasonal fruits and traditional sweets are laid out from 4-6 pm daily.

The largest room, the heart of Hotel B, is La Sala, which serves as a reception and gathering area. The space faces the main street and features two large sitting areas with Grand French ambiance. Access to all amenities, concierge and attentive full-service staff are always close at hand.

Library
Adjacent to the lobby, La Biblioteca is a quiet room on the main floor, decoreted with maps and books reminiscent of a Classic Explorer’s Club. A large reading table is the ideal spot for a light breakfast or to catch up on work. Nearby doors open onto the hotel’s enclosed central patio, with abundant greenery and afternoon sun. Lounge

STROLL

La bajada de baños
Formerly this zone was corresponding to a gully formed by the erosion of the waters given up from a water battery nearby to the Municipal Park. In the cliffs of the Descent they were constructing, from beginning of the 20th century beautiful messes that remain nowadays.

Municipal Park
This beautiful and traditional barranquino park was inaugurated on February 13, 1898. It emphasizes the statue known as “The Danaide”, exits also the chandelier Barberini and little angels called “Puttis” all made of marble Carrara’s. there’s also a pergola where orchestras and artists encourage cultural activities.

Puente de los Suspiros
The Bridge Of The Sighs constructed in 1876, by the necessity to unite the ends and to allow the passage of the Ayacucho and the Hermitage street, it was witness of the destruction of Barranco by the Chilean army during the War of the Pacific the 14 of January of 1881. The name of the Bridge of the Sighs derives from the innumerable romances that they had and have as frame this colorful barranquino corner. The tradition indicates that who sees the bridge for the first time and rosses it without breathing will be fulfilled one desire. Also it served as inspiration to a famous song of the composer Chabuca Granda, titled “the Bridge of the Sighs” in 1960.

The Hermitage
Church The Hermitage formerly this Church was a small chapel to which humble fishermen and travelers went, who taking a break to their workings asked for the God intermediation. It was erected in adobe and quincha in the middle of century XVIII thanks to the Caicedo benefactor, a baker whose devotee wife, miraculously heals by the intercession of the cross that is venerated here. Rebuilt by the chaplain Manuel de la Fuente Chavez in 1882 after it was set on fire by the Chilean army. In 1903 rises to the category of parish.

The Holiest Church Cross
In 1941, being a mayor Mr. Manuel Montero Bernales (1940-1947), considered the need to construct a new temple, because of that the former temple of the Hermitage remained very spoilt after the earthquake of 1940. The manager of the work was the architect Humberto Guerra, putting the first stone on February 14th in 1944, like this on June 1st in 1963, in solemn ceremony, the Temple was inaugurated being blessed by the Cardinal Juan Landazuri Ricketts. It possesses a central ship and two wings, door of exit to the Municipal Park, plant in the shape of Latin cross, and domed roof, the front stands up for its neoclassic style.

The Municipal Library
Inaugurated on October 1st of the year 1922, placed where the City hall used to work many years. The building of neoclassic style is of adobe, it presents classic porticoes of columns between lateral cloths closed with pilasters and wide wing windows, upon the portico you can appreciate a tower, and on the top of it a clock and on its lower pat the shield of Barranco. Nowadays it receives the name of “Manuel Beingolea” offering services to the public in general.

MUSEUMS

Contemporary Art Museum (MAC)
The MAC has a collection of modern and contemporary, national and international art dating from 1950 onwards. Founded in 2013, is the only museum in the city of Lima specializes in spreading the art of this period. The modern facilities are designed and equipped for this purpose.

Pedro de Osma
The artistic founds of the Museum Pedro de Osma come from the personal collection formed by Don Pedro de Osma Gildemeister between years 1936 - 1967. collector was a connoisseur of the Peruvian virreinal art, who reunited gradually around familiar patrimony remarkable objects of the more varied sorts and techniques that are a good reflect of the Peruvian art of centuries XVI, XVII, XVIII and XIX.

Center Colich
Center Colich, Art Gallery and Craft Sale located in Jr. Hill in Barranco, awaits with variety of designs from independent artists.

Lucía de la Puente
A magnificent two-story casona is home to Lima’s most prestigious contemporary art gallery. Look for works by cutting-edge painters such as Fernando Gutiérrez, whose canvases often skewer Peruvian culture.

THINGS TO DO IN LIMA

Lima was founded by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro on January 18, 1535, as Ciudad de los Reyes. It became the capital and most important city in the Spanish Viceroyalty of Peru. Following the Peruvian War of Independence, it became the capital of the Republic of Peru. Today, around one-third of the Peruvian population lives in the metropolitan area.


STROLL

El Malecón, Miraflores
Lima has always been known as the Garden City, and no district rivals Miraflores when it comes to parks. The Miraflores government has spent years improving and adding to the district's green spaces, with a special emphasis on El Malecón, a six-mile stretch of parks situated along the cliffs high above the Pacific Ocean. (Bear in mind that the Malecón actually goes by three names, starting as Malecón de la Marina in the north, then becoming Malecón Cisneros, and ending as Malecón de la Reserva in the south.) The Malecón is perfect for jogging, biking or simply taking in the view. Dotting the walkway are statues created by famed Peruvian artists.


MUSEUMS

Larco Museum
Housed in a former mansion, itself built on the site of a pre-Columbian temple, the museum offers a varied collection of 3,000 years of ceramic, textile and precious metal artifacts. There are also mummies that show off the different ways ancient cultures, including the Incas, preserved their dead.

The Lima Art Museum
The Lima Art Museum presents 3000 years of Peruvian art. The museum has a large selection of pre-Columbian textiles and ceramics, pictures and furniture from Colonial and Republican times and a significant selection of paintings and photographic works from modern times. A representative selection of these collections can be seen in a permanent exhibition on the first floor. The contemporary art can be found in the exhibition rooms of the basement.


SHOPPING

Larcomar
Along the seawalk in the Miraflores district is Larcomar, a multilevel entertainment, food and shopping megacomplex that caters to most tastes. The first thing you'll notice about Larcomar is that you cannot see it. The entire complex is built into the cliffside, underneath Miraflores — the entrance is on Block 6 of Malecón de la Reserva, across the street from the JW Marriott hotel; take the stairs down just before you get to the cliff's edge. Larcomar has breathtaking ocean views, which you can enjoy from numerous restaurants offering Peruvian fare, as well as several American franchises serving everything from doughnuts to ribs.


HISTORICAL

Aliaga House
The Aliaga House has a wide-ranging collection of Peruvian art and artifacts, including the sword Jerónimo de Aliaga used in the conquest of Peru, and reflects various eras of decor, going back centuries. Walking through the house's heavy wooden doors means stepping into layers of history.

Church of San Francisco
Built in the baroque-style of the late 1600s, San Francisco has several gilded side altars and an impressive lattice dome. The adjoining monastery has a superb collection of ancient religious texts, some of which were brought over by the first wave of Spanish priests after the conquest of the Incas.

Pucllana Temple (Huaca Pucllana)
Lima has a large number of historical ruins, known locally as huacas, which can be spotted in many neighborhoods. They are generally fenced off, but that is the extent of the preservation. One of the major exceptions is the Pucllana Temple, or Huaca Pucllana, in the city's upscale Miraflores district. This adobe ceremonial center was likely built around 500 A.D., during the cultural height of Lima's history. Much of the site has been restored and excavations continue to uncover artifacts and the occasional mummy.
