La Chartreuse du Château Le Thil
Located 1,5 km from Les Sources de Caudalie and completely independent, this Chartreuse du Château Le Thil (not classified) is a historic country house built in 1737. The beautiful mansion is the epitome of refinement and authenticity.
The design of the 11 rooms and suites retain the “buco-chic” touch of the owner’s signature interior design. In each of the rooms, styles blend and contrast: Jaune Soleil or Rouge Merlot; Retour des Indes or Lascaux... their names evoke their atmosphere, full of surprises and contrast, antique furniture and the odd daring print.
Whilst designed for pure relaxation, the salons can also be taken together for private use – for family gatherings, celebrations or professional events. The rooms open onto each other to create an impressive space, over 100sqm, ideal for special occasions – and where Nicolas Masse, Executive Chef of Les Sources de Caudalie, can create delicious lunches and gourmet dinners.

Nicolas Masse’s team welcomes you on Saturday morning for a 3-hour cooking class followed by a lunch in the 2-Michelin star restaurant La Grand’Vigne.
TASTING LESSONS
Some Saturdays a month, head sommelier Aurélien Farrouil will be pleased to welcome you in "La Tour de la Dégustation" (Tasting Tower). During this 1h30 class, he will introduce you to wine in a relaxed atmosphere and answer all your questions about wine and tasting.
Each room, named after aspects of the regional heritage, boasts a unique decor, featuring antiques, collectible furniture, and fine draperies. The Confort rooms surface is around 25m².
Their refined decoration with elements unearthed at antique dealers makes you travel a amidst the vines and land. With a surface around 30m² each of the Prestige rooms will be charming you with its character.
The Junior Suites offer space, elegance and comfort. All different, each is an invitation into the history of the Aquitaine Region: back to the colonial past with Thomas Jefferson, discovering the Pays Basque in Espelette. Each has a cosy and warm living room.
Each Confort Suite has its own private terrace looking over the vineyards of the Château Smith Haut Lafitte or the hotel lake. The living room is a great place to relax while the bedroom offers the outmost cocoon to rest. Each has a specific and unique ambiance filled with treasures and details to uncover.
If the “buco-chic” spirit and its undeniable charming decoration is still present, the Signature Suites find their exclusivity in their privileged location, away from the others, in order to promise you intimacy, calm and serenity. They enjoy a unique setting where nothing interferes in their stunning views of the sumptuous landscape of the white vines of Smith Haut Lafitte Castle.
The most emblematic Signature Suite, on the other hand, is a reminiscent of the cabanes tchanquées (cabins on stilts) in the Arcachon Bay. This room overlooking the lake is a true haven of peace, both outside, thanks to its charming raised deck, and inside, where an utterly soft and feminine décor awaits.
After three collaborations with highly contemporary designers, designer Rabih Kayrouz has revived the bucolic charm of this luxury cabin. L’Île aux Oiseaux is now a 50-m2 cocoon where time seems to stand still – a refuge for lovers everywhere.
