Pirates of Canouan 
Mandarin Oriental, Canouan’s young guests will never want to leave their Kids Club with a passionate, enthusiastic team who provide activities, excursions and arts & crafts for every age from toddlers to teens. The club is located in a building fashioned after a traditional colonial-style Caribbean home and includes a game area, media room, library, arts & crafts space, outdoor ground-level trampoline, two swimming pools, one for toddlers and one for teens, and a miniature foot-golf course.  
 
Open daily from 8am to 8pm during high season and between 8am and 5pm during low season.

Golf

The golf course at Mandarin Oriental, Canouan is a breathtakingly beautiful destination in itself, whether you’re a seasoned pro or not entirely sure how to hold a golf club, you can play a challenging game or sign up for lessons at all levels – or if you’re a nature lover, simply drive around in your very own golf buggy and take in the gorgeous scenery. It is the only championship 18-hole course in St Vincent and the Grenadines and was designed by feted golf supremo Jim Fazio, making it one of the premier golf destinations in the Caribbean.  
 
The par 72 course, which also has one of the longest par 3s at 305 yards, is played over two nine-hole loops, with the front nine meandering around the bay for ravishing views of the beaches and natural reef below, and the second nine rising up the emerald hills for more incredible vistas of Canouan and the surrounding islands, with the occasional curious tortoise pottering across the green and narrowly missing becoming a target. For the ultimate pastel sunset panorama, and astonishing Technicolor shots for your holiday album, hop into the buggy and head up the winding paths into the hills until you get to the 13th hole, a dreamy spot for a sundowner.  

Swimming
Go for laps (or lounge with a cocktail) in the large infinity pool on the terrace.

Watersports
The watersports centre has hobie cats, windsurfing equipment and kayaks available for guests to use. Snorkelling excursions and diving trips with advance notice can also be arranged.

Tennis
Three all-weather tennis courts are floodlit for night play at the tennis centre at Carenage Bay, so you can rent a racket for a little workout after dinner, plus there’s a pro-shop and resident tennis professionals on hand.

Excursions
Canouan is part of the Grenadines archipelago, which is made up of 32 islands and cays. If you are keen to explore more of this fascinating area, spot sea turtles or see where scenes of Pirates of the Caribbean were filmed, you can sail off on a catamaran or go snorkelling in Tobago Cays, visit Mustique, walk the beaches of Mayreau or go on a deep-sea fishing trip.

Canouan
There’s plenty to do and see on Canouan itself ­– hop into your golf buggy (navigating around the tortoises) or on a bicycle and see if you can find the old Anglican church that was transported to the island centuries ago. There are also guided hikes up the 240m (787ft) Mount Royal, the highest peak on the island renowned for its wonderful panorama (cameras at the ready).
