Every January, the Sentry Tournament of Champions is held at this course designed by renowned golf architects Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore. The natural and dramatic elevation changes allows the 7,411 yard par 73 course challenging to avid golfers. In addition to being a world-class course, the Bay Course has hosted more than 20 professional tournaments, including multiple PGA and LPGA Tour Events. Opened in 1975, it is known for having the only hole to play over the Pacific Ocean in Maui. Golfers of all skill levels appreciate this championship course for its gorgeous views and gentle rolling fairways. Outside of Kapalua, the island of Maui offers golfers a wide array of some of the finest courses available anywhere. SUNSET POOL & DAY BEDS
Set amongst the tropical grounds of the resort and cascading over three levels down to the Pacific Ocean, the Sunset Pool provides the perfect aquatic playground for your Hawaii vacation. Unwind with signature tropical drinks and light island fare at the Hana Hou Bar. Whether you’re taking a refreshing dip, or relaxing in the Kapalua sun, the Sunset Pool is the ideal destination for drinks with friends and family. Alternatively, the Beach Club also offers tropical drinks and light fare. TENNIS
Take the Kapalua Resort Shuttle to the Kapalua Tennis courts. Secluded just minutes away from the resort, play at one of the top tennis destination in the world. With its own viewing lanai, ten plexipave courts and four lighted for evening play, play as much as you desire.


HIKES

Tidepool Exploration
Right in front of the resort is a rocky point called Kuunaakaiole. Here you will find aquariums by the sea, filled with sea life! Closed toed shoes or sandals highly recommended.

Upcountry Kapalua Hike
Kapalua hillside is home to a cart path that once was the Village Golf Course. Today the area is lush with guava and monarch butterflies. Thi guided hike will take you to a beautiful lake with ducks and koi.

Coastal Trails & Tidepool Hike
This guided hike will take you along the Kapalua Bay coastline exploring the lava fields of Hawea Point to turtle nesting waters of Ironwoods Beach. Enjoy amazing views of our neighboring island.

FOOD & WINE TOURS

Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm
Make your way to Kula and visit the 13.5-acre farm, home to approximately 55,000 lavender plants and 45 different varieties of lavender. While lavender is not native to Maui, it has acclimated well to the majestic mountain-slope with style and grace. Thriving in Kula’s Mediterranean climate, this locale is also rich in olive trees, hydrangea, protea, succulents and more.

Surfing Goat Dairy
Filled with fun and learning for the whole family! This dairy farm is located one hour away from the resort, on the slopes of Maui’s Haleakala Crater.

Maui Brewing Company
In 2005, they began their quest to brew handcrafted ales and lagers using the finest ingredients. Their brewpub sources as many local products as possible to ensure the freshness; even the ketchup and mustard is house made!

Ocean Vodka Organic Farm and Distillery
Situated on a breathtaking 80 acres on the slopes of Mount Haleakala, the home of Ocean Vodka captures panoramic views of both the north and south shores of Maui. It is easily reached from Maui’s international Kahului Airport. The tour includes a sampling with take-home souvenir OCEAN Organic Vodka shot glass for those 21 and over. *Guest must be able to walk 650 yards.

Maui’s Winery – Tedeschi Vineyards
In 1974,  the winery in collaboration with Ulupalakua Ranch began growing grapes, remaining true to the area’s agricultural heritage. Take the scenic 1.5 hour drive to the beautiful upcountry roads and taste the varied selection of wines including sparkling, pineapple, grape and the coveted raspberry dessert wine. 



SNORKEL TOURS
Enjoy a boat tour to excellent snorkel locations! It is one of the best ways to enjoy the pristine Maui waters. Maui features some of the finest snorkel excursions. Most include breakfast and lunch, snorkel gear and lessons.


HORSEBACK RIDING
For the adventurer at heart – take a ride through pineapple fields and Ironwood trees with dramatic scenery of West Maui, Moloka’i and Lana’i. Horseback rides are suitable for both the novice rider and experienced horseman.


SPORT FISHING
For the fishing enthusiast or the beginner, a fully equipped fishing boat can be arranged for your family and friends. These fishing boats are used to pulling in the big prize. Private excursions for four to eight hour tours are available.


CATAMARAN

MUSEUMS

Whaler Village Museum
In the mid-1800s, Lahaina was a bustling whaling town. Interestingly, the museum has recreated a whaling ship, much like how the sailors lived during their voyages. Other exhibits include antique ornaments and utensils made from whale ivory and bone.

Baldwin Home Museum
In Lahaina, stands the oldest house on Maui. Built in 1835 by Reverend Ephraim Spaulding, the Baldwin Home is a recognizable landmark in the heart of historic Lahaina town. Admission fees vary.

Bailey House Museum
Located in Wailuku, the Old Bailey House is owned and operated by the Maui Historical Society. As a historic house of Hawaii, this museum is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

HULA LESSONS
For centuries the Hula has been used to show respect and share the stories of Hawaiian deities. Through Hula, dancers tell the stories of their heritage. In this class you will learn basic hip, foot and hand movements that accompany the words that describe the elements.

LEI MAKING
The lei has been a symbol of Aloha for many and in this course you will be introduced to the history and story of the lei. The resort's Cultural Ambassador will guide you around the property to select the appropriate ferns and teach the braiding method referred to as haku.

UKULELE LESSON
The stringed instrument was introduced to the Hawaiian people by the Portuguese and was adapted by the Hawaiians to the ukulele we know today. Queen Lili`uokalani referred to “uku” meaning gift and “lele” meaning to come; therefore ukulele was “a gift that came.” In this class you will be taught how to hold and finger the ukulele as well as the basic chords.

DESTINATION HIGHLIGHTS

LAHAINA
Lahaina, in Hawaiian means “cruel sun”, is rich with history and known for oceanfront shopping, restaurants and nightlife. In the early 1800’s,  Lahaina was once the the royal capital of Maui Loa, the fifth king of Maui. The Hawaiian people thrived in the hot, dry climate, fishing, surfing, and trading with neighbors. Today, Lahaina Harbor remains a bustling port. Whaling ships have been replaced by whale watching vessels, ferries to Moloka’i, and Lana’i, parasailing outfitters, and sail boats. Front Street remains the focus of the town full shopping and dining while parks, churches, and homes built by missionaries are sprinkled throughout the ten block destination.

PAIA
Looking for a unique beach town with shopping and superb restaurants? Visit Paia town, located a little over an hour away from Kapalua. Known as the most eccentric places on Maui, everything worth seeing can be found by wandering up and down Hana Highway and Baldwin Avenue. This is the place to people watch while dining at Flatbread or the Fish Market. Shopping includes Tamara Katz, Inc., Wings and Alice in Hula Land. For beach or recreation, the Baldwin Beach Park is great for body boarding and kite flying while Ho’okipa Beach Park is excellent for surfing and wind surfing.

MAKAWAO
For a small town feel, visit Makawao the home of the Paniolo (Hawaiian Cowboy). You will be pleasantly surprise to spot several horses and fields on the way to this charming town. Roaming the many quaint shops, clothing boutiques and art galleries are just some of the activities to be had. The Manduke Baldwin Polo Arena is a great place to visit horses and view exciting sporting event.  Also around 4th of July, Makawao hosts Hawaii’s largest rodeo where local cowboys (and gals) ride brocs and bulls, steer wrestle, rope, and barrel race. This is the perfect event where they show offs their skills. Other excursions and points of interest are Waihou Springs Forest Reserve, Waihou Springs Trail hike, Komodo Store and Bakery, Rodeo General Store and Rainbow Country Park.

WAILEA
Wailea  is located in the southern part of Maui, stretching along the shoreline between south Kihei to the north and Makena to the south. Take in the gorgeous landscapes, and some of the chicest shopping and dining on the island. Beaches include Keawakapu, Ulua Beach, Wailea Beach and Polo Beach. Shopping includes the Shops of Wailea and dining highlights comprise of Gannon’s Island cuisine, Joes’ Bar and Grill and Pita Paradise.

MOLOKINI CRATER
Molokini Crater is located on the south coast of Maui and is an official State Marine Life and Bird Conservation District. Home of tropical fish, manta rays, eels and colorful reef, it is a marine sanctuary for many wildlife in Hawaii. Formed from a volcanic eruption, Molokini Crater is a safe haven for fish and reef to flourish. In preserving this area, tour boats enjoy the opportunity to educate and share Molokini’s pristine waters with visitors. Within the crater, snorkeling is superb while the backside is best for scuba diving. Due to it’s currents and depths to around 300 feet below sea level, scuba diving is only recommended for the experienced.

SIGHTSEEING
Stretching across Maui’s southern and eastern coastline, Haleakala National Park features slopes can be seen from about any point on the island. The park is comprised of three separate visitor centers and covers a range of natural environments. Hike above the clouds and horseback riding across otherworldly deserts. As the park stretches out to the coast towards sea level you can even visit lush tropical areas full of waterfalls and streams. Many visitors and locals wake up early to drive up to the best spot to watch the sunrise.

Ho’okipa Beach Park is one of the top spots for ocean sports and recreation in Maui. Located in Hana, this breath-taking white sand beach boasts some of the best waves on the Maui coastline. A mecca for surfers and beach goers.

In the heart of Lahaina sits the Banyan tree, standing 50 feet tall. A beloved part of the community, the 142 year old Lahaina Banyan Tree is nearly a quarter of a mile around and has over than 10 trunks that anchor it into the ground. Started at 8 feet tall, it now provides shade to craft shows, music events, meetings and those who are just in search of a nice place to sit and rest. This special tree is treated like a member of the community because it has played a significant part in Lahaina’s history. King Kamehameha III celebrated a birthday beneath its leaves, as it was a part of the ceremony that celebrated Hawaii’s inclusion in the United States of America.

Located poolside, this intimate Maui bar features prime views of Lanai and Molokai while enjoying local fare and sipping creative beverage selections. The bartenders are well-versed of the history of the resort and the island. With the best view on Kapalua, stay, talk story and leave knowing more about Maui than ever before.
