Art Gallery - Paseo De Las Artes
The hotel commands an impressive array of art and an underground  gallery called  “Paseo de las Artes” showcasing paintings and sculptures by local and Latin American artists.

AREA ACTIVITIES

Bicycle Programme
Available through the Concierge Department, this speciality service invites guests to uncover the city’s best sites with the use of a bicycle. This activity, very useful to discover new urban cycling lanes, includes several amenities such as helmet, lights, bottled water and biking map. Bicycles will be available in four-hour increments and guests will be required to complete a waiver before checking out a bicycle.

City Tours
Visit the most attractive areas of Buenos Aires, such as 9 de Julio Avenue, the Obelisk, Plaza de Mayo, San Telmo, La Boca and Recoleta, on this tour, which will introduce you to a wide array of Buenos Aires neighbourhoods and points of interest. It is organised by a local tour company and lasts approximately three hours.

Private Tours
Private tours give you the opportunity to customise your sightseeing, choosing your own time and itinerary. Specialist guides will show you the highlights of the city and any special interest that you may have, such as art, architecture, design and tango, among others. Private tours require a minimum length of three hours.

Evita Perón Tour
Contemporary Argentina cannot be understood without acknowledging the emergence of peronista and its consequences. This tour visits the sites that explain the political and cultural conflicts that were brought about by the emergence of Juan D. Perón into the political arena. The tour focuses on Eva Duarte, her political performance, her tragic death and the continuity of her myth today. Some of the key scenes of her life are included on tour, as well as the place where her corpse was mummified and the museum that opened to commemorate her legacy. This tour is not politically based and aims to recreate the life of Evita, a world-renowned character in our history.

Museums

MALBA: Buenos Aires Museum of Latin-American Art
Since its opening in 2001, MALBA has constantly pursued the enlargement of its local and Latin American art collection, dating from the beginning of the previous century to today. Frida Kahlo, Xul Solar and Antonio Berni, among others, can be appreciated in the main room of this museum.

Fortabat Art Gallery Collection
The recently opened Fortabat Art Gallery Collection features a wide range of Argentinian and international artists from the 19th and 20th centuries.

National Museum of Fine Arts
This museum hosts a permanent collection of local 20th century art. On the first floor, you will find the Pre-Columbian Andean Art Room and the Auditorium. The second floor is designed to house not only to its own works, but also temporary photography exhibits. On the ground floor, an international collection spanning from the Middle Ages to the previous century is housed, along with a specialised art library.

Xul Solar Museum
The house where this controversial artist spent most of his life is located in the trendy neighbourhood of Palermo and is now a museum that is home to several objects, masks and sculptures by Xul Solar.

Fundación PROA
Fundación PROA is a cultural contemporary art centre located in the traditional La Boca neighbourhood, a port area in the southern part of the city that served as gateway to immigrants at the beginning of the 20th century. PROA opened its doors in 1996 and contributes to the city’s cultural programme by staging international exhibitions.

Tango
Very few things so clearly define the “porteño” culture as Tango, which dates back to the 19th century and was born on the shores of Buenos Aires. The traces of its melodies, filled with immigrants’ nostalgia, exhibit unique cadences, a mix of habanera, andalucian tango, candombe and milonga. Tango was born as a transgressing music and was prohibited for a long time due to its somewhat vulgar lyrics, and sensual and provocative dance moves. Today, over one century later, Tango is the expression of Buenos Aires, the feeling of the people that attracts tourists from all over the world to the vibes of the “2 by 4”. You can enjoy Tango in its different manifestations at Milongas-Tango Clubs, where local people meet to dance with their own partners or others, and at Tango shows, where you can not only enjoy an outstanding show, but also a traditional, delicious dinner. Alternatively, you can be a deeper part of this special feeling with Tango lessons!

Polo
Discover the best polo in the world right here in Argentina, where the players are known as some of the most skilled in the world. You will have the chance to see them in action and experience the finest polo in the country; wander through pony lines; socialise with the players; and hear anecdotes and interesting information about the game on a special polo tour. For your convenience, we will arrange private transportation to the Polo Club where the tournaments take place and a specialist guide will accompany you throughout the entire tour. During the match, you will feel the excitement of fast-paced chukkas of professional polo and be fascinated by the thunder of the riders, and the incredible speed and darting turns of the horses.

Soccer
Soccer is not just a sport in Buenos Aires, it is a passion for most people. We invite you to experience this passion at the most important games of the season, held from March to November.

Teatro Colón
The Teatro Colón is the main opera house in Buenos Aires and is acoustically considered among the five best concert venues in the world. The current Teatro Colón replaced the original theatre that opened in 1857. Towards the end of the 19th century, it became clear that a new theatre was needed and, after a 20-year process, the new theatre opened on 25 May 1908 with a performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s Aïda. The Teatro Colón was then visited by the foremost singers and opera companies of the time. However, after a period of huge international success, its decline became clear and plans were made for massive renovations. After the initial start of work to restore the landmark in 2005, the theatre was closed for refurbishment from October 2006 to May 2010. It re-opened on 24 May 2010, with a special programme for the 2010 season.

Shopping
Alvear Avenue is famed for the most exclusive international brands. This seven-block avenue is probably the most popular street in Buenos Aires for shopping. Here, you will find Valentino, Armani, Polo Ralph Laurent and Louis Vuitton among local stores offering jewellery, leather goods and Polo items. You should also not miss Florida Street. This pedestrian street starts at San Martín Square, and is the city’s most visited area for souvenirs and local products. Santa Fe Avenue is a modern street ideal for shopping, especially for leather goods, hand-made items, clothes and music, etc., offered in a concentration of a huge number of galleries and boutiques. It is also famous for its nightlife, as well as the amazing bookstore “El Ateneo”, the former Grand Splendid Theatre, located at 1860 Santa Fe Avenue.

Fairs
Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are the best days visit fairs and outdoor markets, usually held in parks and squares.
San Telmo´s Flea Market
Every Sunday, the traditional neighbourhood of San Telmo opens its doors with a unique Flea Market located in the Plaza Dorrego. The market offers a wide variety of local crafts, antiques, and many other odds and ends, all in a unique Tango environment.

Duhau Restaurante offers Sophisticated Argentinean Cuisine with emphasis on typical cuts of Argentinean meat from the best breeds, including Wagyu, Black Angus and Aberdeen Angus.

The restaurant presents a special feature on wooden grill preparation, based on seasonal and local fresh products executed with contemporary style and flawless service. Connected to the garden with ample seating on the terrace, Duhau Restaurante & Vinoteca has a very intimate and cozy atmosphere.

Guests enter through the Vinoteca offering an extensive selection of Argentine wines and featuring the best Argentine Malbecs as well as international wines. The Vinoteca also features a unique Cheese Room offering the best artisanal regional cheeses selected by the Maître Fromager. These exquisite cheeses are served with assorted chutneys, dried fruits, and fresh home-baked breads. This is s cozy place for wine tasting and meetings, featuring a fireplace.

Located in the Palacio, these magnificent salons serve breakfast, small dishes, and elegant snacks throughout the day with special emphasis on afternoon tea. The rooms conserve their original painted “boisery” and offers a fireplace, and an elegant combination of low and high tables. The magnificent outside terrace, accessible through both exits of the Piano Nobile Salons as well as the Oak Bar, enjoys magnificent views over the landscaped garden of the Palace. The total capacity for indoor dining is 43 seats; outdoor dinning area is 30 guests.
