Summary

Park Gstaad is an authentic mountain resort, nestled in the lush green valley of the Saaneland region in the Swiss Alps. Opened in 1910, this resort lies at the geographical heart of Gstaad, framed by picturesque mountain and forest landscapes. With an emphasis on community and an ethos rooted in discretion, authenticity and understated luxury, the hotel is a shining example of traditional Swiss hospitality with a contemporary flair.

Making the most of the tranquillity of the mountains, the hotel focuses on health and wellness, as well as ensuring minimal impact from the hotel on the environment around it by ensuring the sustainability of its produce and products. The alpine haven also takes advantage of over 1,000 yearly events and activities in the region during summer and winter, including skiing, snowboarding, dogsledding, hiking, volleyball, polo and horse riding meaning there’s something for visitors of all ages.

Surrounded by majestic panoramic views of the mountains, Park Gstaad combines Swiss charm and sophisticated modern comfort in all 84 rooms, and 10 suites across five floors. A particular highlight is ‘My Gstaad Chalet,’ which can be found at an impressive 400m² and is the largest penthouse suite in the Swiss Alps, furnished with interiors inspired by the surrounding scenery. Acclaimed interior designer Federica Palacios combined modern aesthetics, while retaining the character of the tradition-steeped region, evoking, as a result, a true ‘chalet feel’ throughout.

Park Gstaad offers indulgent and imaginative dining experiences at all three restaurants within the hotel. Tantalise taste buds at the hotel’s signature Restaurant “Avenue Montagne” that comes under the direction of Axel Rüdlin. The restaurant serves contemporary dishes using regionally sourced produce and features an open kitchen where guests can watch the chefs at work. For a different experience, enjoy the blend of taste and texture through ‘live fire cuisine’ at the one-of-a-kind Chubut, inspired by delicate Patagonian-Argentine flavours. Guests can also experience the authentic taste of rustic Swiss favourites at the Chalet Waldhuus, housed in a characteristic wooden chalet in the hotel’s garden serving fondues and raclettes. Those visiting in the summer can also make use of the hotel’s expansive terrace, where delicious BBQ buffets and carefully crafted tapas dishes can be enjoyed in view of the stunning alpine scenery.

Park Gstaad is also home to Caveau, known as a ‘wine paradise,’ which offers fine wines and aperitifs paired with cured meats and aged cheeses, while in the Bar, cocktails and sushi are prepared to a back drop of music as a DJ plays late into the night. The Cigar Lounge is a hightech smoking room in which first-class Cuban cigars and cognacs can be sampled, and the Library is a cosy setting in which to enjoy a light afternoon tea or cocktails prepared by the hotel’s expert resident mixologist. The Club Bar, with spectacular views of Wispile Mountain, offers fresh oysters, caviar and champagne, alongside an extensive cocktail menu.

At 1,000m², the Spa comprises 10 treatment rooms, an indoor saltwater pool, and an outdoor heated pool for use during the summer months. Guests can relax in the Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish, hydrotherapy and balneotherapy baths, and relaxation areas or enjoy spa treatments using products from innovative skincare brand JK7 as well as Aromatherapy Associates. There is also a top-of-the-range gym and fitness centre, which comes complete with a world-class personal trainer giving guests one-to-one, tailored training sessions if desired. Also available is a state-ofthe-art Indoor Golf Club and PGA Tour simulator for indoor golfing, affording keen golfers virtual access to the most beautiful and challenging courses in the world, also benefitting from advanced swing analysis technology. A ‘Pro’, Frederic Dauchez, is also on-hand for one-to-one coaching.
