Situated in the dappled shade of the Sweni River’s tree-lined banks, Singita Sweni Lodge is a delightfully intimate camp. The 6 double suites mirror Lebombo’s glorious glass-wall structures, whilst the central area, contemporary dining room and cool swimming pool are positioned to take full advantage of the riverfront activity and boast wonderful views of sunbathing terrapins, cruising crocodiles and feeding jacanas. A night spent sleeping on the deck under the stars is magical way to enjoy the proximity to nature and the cheerful dawn chorus.
The design of Singita Sweni was influenced by nature and its habitats. Sitting low on the Sweni River, this tranquil sanctuary is built on stilts with decks of dark timber, giving it a grounded and earthy feel.
Culinary pleasures are a highlight at Singita Sweni Lodge: experienced chefs take their inspiration from local surroundings and revel in using home-grown ingredients to add a particular flair to each meal. Dining privately in your suite or at the traditional boma is always an option. You can also visit the wine cellar, where you will find an extensive array of some of southern Africa’s finest wines.
Guests have access to a wide range of activities, including:
Early morning game drives and guided bush walks
Afternoon (into evening) game drives in open Land-Rovers
Spa, gym and African Trading Store
There are 6 luxury riverside suites (12 beds) with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, luxurious bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, an expansive living area, mini bar and fridge, room safe, direct dial telephones and private wooden leisure decks. All suites are air-conditioned and also offer the option of ceiling fans.
