Description

The exquisite Polynesian atoll of Tetiaroa, located 30 miles north of Tahiti, has always been a place of stunning beauty, tranquility and rejuvenation — first for Tahitian royalty, who chose this island above all others for their summer retreat, and later for Marlon Brando who chose it for his personal sanctuary.

The Brando is a new luxury eco-resort, located on this private atoll. The Brando is unique in concept and scope, combining environmental purity, luxury and Polynesian charm into an exceptional experience.

Special Celebrations: Holding hands while strolling a white-sand beach. Sipping Champagne while watching the colorful rays of sunset wash over a turquoise lagoon. Enjoying an intimate gourmet dinner served al fresco with Polynesian hospitality. Listening to birdcalls and the gentle lapping of waves from the privacy of your luxurious villa. There is simply no more romantic or exotic setting for your special occasion.

activities

Activities:

At The Brando, you will find an abundance of activities from bicycling, snorkeling and bird watching to diving and kite surfing.

Here, you are not just observing nature; you are in it. You can don a snorkeling mask and witness underwater life at a coral garden firsthand, encountering such marine life as sea turtles, manta rays, reef sharks and a dazzling array of fish. Or you can explore the spectacular lagoon or other motus by Polynesian outrigger canoe, kayak, or paddleboard. Or simply swim at Mermaid Bay or relax on the beach or by the pool.

You may spend all your time on the main island or explore any of the untouched private islands surrounding the lagoon.

You can also visit the Cultural Lounge, where you can read books about French Polynesia and attend lectures and demonstrations about Polynesian culture, history, and lifestyle. And the on-site research scientists will also be delighted to talk about their research and the rare birds and marine life found on the atoll.

restaurant

Dining:

Beachfront Restaurant
The beachfront restaurant offers exceptional lagoon and ocean views, whether you decide to dine indoors or on the beach. Dishes will include a varied menu of Polynesian-inspired dishes alongside classic French cuisine, but the chef will also be happy to try to prepare for you whatever you desire.

At this restaurant and other dining venues you will enjoy the freshest of ingredients. Every day, the chef will select for the day’s dishes organically grown fruits and vegetables from the own gardens and orchards. These may include mangos, papayas, tomatoes, green beans, lettuce, cucumbers, squash, avocados, breadfruit, bananas, limes, watermelon and more. And fish and shellfish will be from Polynesian waters.

Fine Dining Restaurant
For a more intimate dinner experience, the resort offers a fine dining restaurant led by Guy Martin, Chef Propriétaire of the Michelin two star rated Le Grand Véfour Restaurant in Paris. He will be creating a menu with same regard for flavor and quality that has made his restaurant one of the most respected dining establishments in Paris. This restaurant includes an extensive, world-class wine cellar in a carefully climate-controlled glass enclosure.

Lagoon-View Bar
Located on the second floor, this open-air bar features spectacular views of the lagoon, distant motus and sunsets. In addition to the main lounge, there are several private tree-level seating areas that can be reached on walkways through the palm canopy.

Bob’s Bar
This is a very casual setting on the beach for conversation and making friends. The bar is named for Marlon Brando’s factotum (assistant) on film sets. At the end of many days, Brando and Bob would wind up at the bar for long talks. Eventually the bar at Marlon Brando’s lodge, Tetiaroa Village, became known as Bob’s Bar. Bob’s Bar has retained the original bar from the lodge Brando built. The name has been kept in honor of Bob and all others who have worked, and continue to work, anonymously to bring Brando’s visions to life.

Room Service As a guest of The Brando, you can dine at any time. Room service is available 24 hours a day, and so you can enjoy a meal whenever you want in the privacy of your villa—either indoors, on your private deck, poolside, or on the beach.

wellness

Spa:

Varua Polynesian Spa is a natural haven of serenity nestled on the shores of a soothing pond in the heart of Motu Onetahi. This is the spot where the Tahitian royal family retreated to relax or indulge in rituals of beauty.

Within this setting you can enjoy the finest holistic treatments inspired by ancient Polynesian traditions coupled with modern techniques. The spa includes steam baths, a tea and relaxation lounge, a yoga shelter and a spa suite for couples.
