Gleneagles’ newest restaurant, offers all-day dining, serving the finest French-American brasserie dishes using seasonal and locally-sourced Scottish produce in an elegant, atmospheric and relaxed setting. A beautiful mosaic floor and bistro-style décor, inspired by the grand Parisian cafés of the early twentieth century, brings a refined ambience to the space. The Winter Garden and roaring open fire add warmth and a lively buzz – making The Birnam Brasserie the perfect social hub for relaxed family suppers, long and lazy Sunday brunches, and wonderful breakfasts.

Reminiscent of the iconic bars of the 1920s and 30s, and personifying effortless elegance and glamour, The American Bar is a truly special space for intimate drinks. Complemented by an exquisite caviar selection, the drinks list showcases an exceptional collection of cocktails inspired by the roaring 20s era; and an impressive range of Champagnes by the glass, bottle and magnum. The American Bar is the perfect place to celebrate, dress up, and enjoy world class cocktails and service but, to enable the hotel to facilitate this experience and create an enjoyable atmosphere for its guests, there are certain dress code expectations. Informal clothing of any kind – including ripped denim, trainers, baseball caps, non-collared t-shirts and shorts – would be inappropriate for the elegant setting. While jackets and ties are not essential, smart attire would be expected and formal dress would be welcomed.

Not everyone wants to spend their time on the end of a golf club, fishing rod, gun, riding rein or falconer's glove. Bob & Cloche
Located just a stone’s throw from the hotel, the former gate lodge has been transformed into a stunning beauty destination. Little Glen
Little Glen, a colourful, vibrant and fully supervised crèche for 2 – 9 year olds, is a safe, fun and stimulating play environment for happy tots, adventurous spirits and curious minds.

With bright, fresh colour schemes, different textures and tactile furnishings, and an arts and crafts workshop, the space has been designed to stimulate play, interaction and learning. The indoor treehouse and slide; toy campfire and wigwams; play stables with hobby horses; Gleneagles Express railway carriage; and pretend grass flooring covered with ‘cuddly’ wildlife chairs, reflect the natural beauty of the estate and local countryside, and bring a sense of the outdoors inside.


The Den
The Den, an unsupervised facility filled with all manner of stimulating and interactive play resources, has been specially designed as a hangout and recreation space for older children and young teenagers, aged 6 – 15.
Things to do:
The Den’s series of linked rooms showcases everything from PS4s, Xboxes, arts and crafts, pool and air hockey, to traditional games like Chinese Checkers, Dominoes, Backgammon and Charades. The Den’s relaxed cinema room with its big comfy floor cushions will entertain young guests with regular film screenings, while the giant-sized games area features a full floor-sized game of snakes and ladders, giant Connect Four, giant Jenga, and a huge wall-mounted Scrabble board.

GOLF
In 2019, Gleneagles will celebrate its golfing centenary. Since the iconic King’s and Queen’s courses were first opened here in 1919, this countryside estate in the heart of Scotland has continued to attract the elite of the golf world.

At the Gleneagles Shooting School we have outstanding facilities and expert instructors on hand to provide an unforgettable experience for all ages and skill levels – whether you’re a novice or a crack-shot.

TENNIS
Tennis has been part of the Gleneagles experience since the hotel was first opened in the 1920s. Today, you can play whatever the weather at our state-of-the-art Indoor Tennis Centre.

RIDING
Gleneagles Equestrian School provides expert instruction in all disciplines of horsemanship, including dressage, show jumping and cross country. The school caters for riders of all ages from three years old upwards.

OFF-ROAD DRIVING
The driving in the Perthshire hills is spectacular, and at Gleneagles you can have a thrilling off-road experience in our fleet of 4x4 vehicles. Participants must hold a full driving licence for these demanding trails.

FALCONRY
The estate's expert falconers teach the basic skills and techniques of this fascinating sport – one of the oldest and most aristocratic in the world – providing guests with hands-on experience of handling and flying Harris hawks.

GUNDOGS
Since the Gleneagles Gundog School opened in 2007 – the first of its kind in the world – thousands of guests have experienced the unique pleasure of working with the school's magnificent and highly trained labradors.

CYCLING

ARCHERY
"Toeing the line" on a dedicated range will enable you to learn the basics of target archery in all its practice and forms. Using recurve bows your instructor will teach, inform and develop your skill in this ancient sport.
