This quiet, intimate 35-suite Hotel might have, in the first instance, been designed for weddings, so idyllic is the setting.
All of the suites look out on a garden abloom with frangipani and bougainvillea and shaded by palms and casuarina trees. The swimming pool by the edge of the white sand beach is guarded by a very tall, very stately mahogany tree said to be more than 100 years old. People come from all over to be married beneath the Old Mahogany Tree, or on the beautiful white sands of Treasure Beach.
The Hemingway
Ideal for Honeymooners or a romantic escape, the Hemingway suite exudes contemporary elegance and understated style. The suite is the largest of the three deluxe suites with stunning views across the beautiful garden and pristine white sandy beach.
The bathroom has his and hers sinks, oversized shower and freestanding tub all enhanced by the skylight and dark wood furnishings. The bedroom itself has the “Caribbean feel” with pieces from Guyana and throughout the islands all skilfully put together to create a perfect relaxing escape.
The Hibiscus
The Hibiscus Suite overlooks the perfect white sand and blue sea of Payne’s Bay. The Suite is designed using Afro Caribbean and Amerindian influences. The large living room area opens up on to the balcony and plunge pool. The bathroom has a beautiful oversized tub with modern fixtures and a glass encased shower for two. The walk-in closet is lit by the natural Caribbean sunshine that pours in through the ceiling to floor windows.
The bedroom is designed for comfort with dark hardwood furnishings and light imaginative artwork.
The Hummingbird
The Hummingbird is perched on the northern side with views of the glistening Caribbean waters and warm sandy beach. This Suite is cool and relaxing with the use of light neutral colours and exquisite Guyanese furnishings and artwork. The small alcove looking out onto the beach is ideal for early morning tea while the sun rises over Barbados.
The bathroom is modern and crisp with an oversized tub, separate shower for two, and his and her sinks. The Molton Brown amenities provide the sensual aroma to help create an intimate atmosphere from the moment you enter this ideal retreat.
All Ocean, Pool and Garden View Suites feature coral stone walls, ceramic tiled floors, and Plasma televisions. The bathrooms have been stylishly redesigned with separate shower and soaking tub, and his and hers sink.
Every suite has an air-conditioned bedroom with ceiling fan, bathroom with hair dryer, tub and separate shower. A tastefully furnished living room, with ceiling fan, leads out to a private patio or balcony. Home comforts include tea and coffee service, a mini fridge/ freezer, toaster and kettle.
