Alto Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa was built to blend seamlessly into its surroundings, appearing as part of the terracotta-coloured hills that rise behind it. It's a tribute to the Atacama desert a place, where you can live, breath and learn about the desert, it's people and it's culture.
The lodge's location 3km from town, tucked away in a valley of serene beauty, sweeping views, peaceful tranquillity, and expansive outdoor lounge spaces make the Alto Atacama a destination unto itself. There are 42 spacious guest rooms, all of which have a private terrace. The lodge offers more than 35 cultural and adventure excursions, from bike rides to volcano treks, photo safaris to picnics at high-altitude salt lakes, and visits to geyser fields, amongst others. The lodge also boasts a private open deck observatory for stargazing. For a more relaxing time, the Spa features six outdoor pools, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath.
San Pedro de Atacama is a tiny oasis located at an altitude of 2,500 meters, in a geographical area showcasing some of the tallest peaks in the Andes Mountains, as well as the famous Atacama Desert - known as the driest desert in the world.
Considered to be the archaeological of Chile, Atacama is privileged by beautifulo landscapes and eternally blue skies. What was once the craddle of Likan Antai, or Atacamena culture, today accommodates an international population of close to 5,00 people.
Upon arrival at Santiago International Airport (SCL), you will need to take a 2 hour flight to connect with Calama City, 1670 km to the north. The hotel's staff will be waiting you in the baggage claim area to help you collect your luggage and take it to the vehicle. What follows is a scenic 1 hour drive through the desert, leading you to the oasis of San Pedro de Atacama.
