Volkswagen Vintage Tour: Classic
Half day tour
Enjoy an unwinding journey in a classic VW 181 convertible as you drive along the incredibly beautiful country side, passing the rice field of Ceking village, visiting Sebatu water temple and the historical Gunung Kawi. A lunch picnic pit-stop along the way completes the ultimate vintage experience. Highly recommended and it has been the most favorite experience in Mandapa. Full day tour is available upon request.

Volkswagen Vintage Tour: Hidden Jewel
Half-day tour
Discover the hidden jewel of Bali with the resort's classic VW 181. The trip starts from Penglipuran Village, a beautiful highland village in the regency of Bangli in East Bali, best known for its well-preserved culture and village layout. The trip continues to visit the most ancient temple in Bangli, Pura Kehen. It was built in the 11th century, known as the miniature of Besakih Temple, the Mother Temple in Bali. Kehen means household or a fire place which symbolizes Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe according to ancient Hindu philosophy. The last stop will explore the unspoiled Tukad Cepung Waterfall. The waterfall does not flow into a river, stream or jungle, but it flows gently down the canyon with around 15 meter high. These locations are hand-selected for those who wish to go off the beaten path away from the crowds.

Tirta Empul Purification

A Balinese water purification ritual taking place at Tirta Empul- The Mother of Water temple in Bali. This magical experience will start by dressing in a traditional costume while walking into the Tirta Pools and visiting a series of fountains to purify the mind, body and soul. The ritual is completed with a prayer in the temple that allows you to experience the local tradition.

Campuhan Walk

Campuhan walk is a free and easy nature trek, popular among visitors to the central highland town of Ubud. While the hike lets you enjoy cool fresh air and probably the most gorgeous hillside vista in the region, it also allows you to shed off some calories with its ten-kilometer hill track.

Grahastha Ritual

Grahastha is derived from the Sanskrit language meaning “Time to Marry”, signifying a stage of the Balinese circle of life where one is ready to start a family. The ritual will start with a purification ceremony in front of the resort temple that aims to cleanse the body, mind and soul followed by a guided Balinese wedding ritual. This activity is also ideal for couples who wish to encompass their love journey while in Bali.

Balinese Ritual Lifestyle

A spiritual experience; you will learn how to wear a traditional costume and to prepare a Balinese daily offering called Canang – and place it at the resort temple. A pranayama, meditation and Balinese prayer will finish this ritual.  

Flower Gebogan Making

Explore your creativity and discover your inner artist by making one of the most beautiful and colorful Balinese offerings called “Gebogan”. You will be guided on how to create this flower tower using indigenous locally grown fresh flowers and coconut leaves – beautifully arranged on a traditional Balinese wooden plate “Dulang”. Learn how to prepare this flower art in true Balinese way.

Sunrise at Mount Batur

Enjoy an unforgettable sunrise at one of Bali’s sacred volcanoes, Mount Batur. Located on 1,717 meters above sea level with a hike approximately 2- 3 hours long, Mount Batur overlooks stunning sceneries. Unwind as the vibration of the sacred earth soothes your mind and soul over a rustic morning. Breakfast will be cooked by the steam of the active volcano. This moderate-to-strenuous climb is well suited for any trekking enthusiast ready for a challenge far from the crowds.

Kintamani Trekking

A moderate-level of trekking, passing the lush greeneries of Batur with a picturesque view of the lake and the vegetable farm. This invigorating trek will allow you to learn about the traditional farming system as well as understanding the history of Hindu temples. The journey will conclude by visiting the hot spring that allows you to refresh your mind and body.

Trunyan Village Trek

A trekking through the most sacred place in North of Bali, where the natives prepare the deceased and allow them to be naturally preserved by the ancient tree, Taru  Menyan, which is named after the village. Enjoy Mandapa signature picnic during the trek. 

Nungnung Waterfall

Start your day by visiting one of Bali’s tallest waterfalls with an altitude of 900 meters above sea level. Located in a small village of Nungnung, 40 kilometers north of Denpasar, the journey begins by going down to the river valley, tracing hilly rice fields and seeing the waterfall from up close.

Lempuyang Journey

This activity will enrich you on how the Balinese people pray in the highest temple in East Bali, known as Lempuyang Temple, and also one of the nine most sacred temples in Bali Island. Penulisan Experiential Cycling

Pod Chocolate Tour

Learn how they make chocolate as you tour the Pod Chocolate Factory and witness the cocoa pod as it receives the ultimate makeover into delicious Pod Chocolate. The tour begins with the cocoa tree, takes you through the boutique factory and ends with making your own chocolate to take home. Lots of tasting along the way – from the raw cocoa fruit, roasted beans and of course the amazing Bali chocolate – this is the ultimate chocolate experience for everyone!

HISTORICAL EXPLORATION
Those wishing to explore historical landmarks will enjoy Goa Gajah, a cave built in the 9th century as a sanctuary, now more commonly known as “Elephant Temple”. Tradition also abounds at Penglipuran Village, where kings and royals once frequented for entertainment. Yet another exhilarating adventure prevails at Pura Besakih (Mother Temple of Besakih), widely known as the largest and holiest temple of Hindu religion in Bali. The temple is perched nearly 1,000 meters up the side of Gunung Agung in the village of Besakih in eastern Bali.

Mandapa Picnic
Spend a relaxing afternoon over a private picnic with your inner circle. Pamper yourself with freshly prepared light bites along with healthy juices. At Mandapa, you may choose between the riverside picnic, next to the Ayung River, or at the iconic Lumbung (rice barn) with stunning views of the rice terrace. Offsite picnic is also available. Barbecue by the Rice Field
Set in the private deck by the rice field, the bespoke private dining experience features a bountiful buffet selection as well as a Grill “Live Station” by a private chef. Indulge in Balinese-spiced red snapper, jumbo tiger prawns, Australian lamb satay, Black Angus beef fillet steak and many more, and end on a high note with the homemade dessert selection. Made Griyawan is no ordinary artist. He is one of the finest practitioners of the Batuan "School" of Balinese traditional painting. A deeply spiritual man, through his art he shares his values and wisdom. Griyawan's latest exhibition was held at Omotesando Hills Gallery in Tokyo in early 2017.

Visit his mini exhibition and workshop while enjoying an evening cocktail at The Library during the weekly resort cocktail.

Located in the tropical region, Indonesia enjoys abundant rain and sunshine most of the time, which are important elements for agriculture. An archipelago of more than 18,000 islands, the country is rich in biodiversity, its native produce and unique ingredients elude most of the world including Sumatran andaliman pepper, Balinese jack fruit, Toraja coffee and Javanese palm sugar among others.

Explore the taste of Indonesia through the “Jelajah Indonesia” cocktail experience. Each hand-crafted cocktail is mixed using local and exotic ingredients from distinctive Indonesian islands, from the westernmost Sumatra Island to the easternmost Papua Island. From sweet, fruity, or with a little bit of spicy kick, the flavor palette will vary from one cocktail to the other, depending on the core ingredient used. “Jelajah Indonesia” will take you to embark on a journey of flavors with these unique indigenous cocktails. The experiences of Mini Explorers into that innate curiosity by introducing younger guests to both the natural wonders and the rich cultural traditions of the resort locations. It features organic farm and an educational Mandapa Camp tucked away from the rest of the resort.

This program offers your children the chance to learn new skills, survival mode, make new friends and take part in a wide range of creative activities, all under expert supervision. A learning adventures inspired by nature, its offerings combine opportunities for the entire family to explore Balinese culture and enriching eco-based activities together or just for the Mini Explorers.

Nature-based education activities for Mini Explorers include Kids Yoga, Jungle Gym, Scavenger Hunt, Nature Walk, Organic Gardening, Color Making from Natural Plant Dyes, Chocolate Making, Balinese Kite-flying and Rice Paddy Exploration.
