Foraging at Cowdray Park

I had the most wonderful time foraging at the beautiful Cowdray Park estate. The experience was led by George—pictured here—who was incredibly knowledgeable and made the day both engaging and enriching.

We enjoyed a delicious wild picnic featuring ingredients we gathered ourselves, set against the serene backdrop of the South Downs.

One special moment was standing in front of a 1,000-year-old oak tree, where George shared a fascinating tale: Queen Elizabeth I is said to have shot a deer beneath its branches with a bow and arrow.

A truly memorable day immersed in nature, history, and quiet luxury.
