This Is The Reason Why You Must Travel To Puglia Next Summer

Rocco Forte Hotels announced today that it is taking over the operation of Masseria Torre Maizza, an existing 5 star resort located in Puglia, Italy. The hotel will reopen as a Rocco Forte hotel in May 2019 following a significant refurbishment of its facilities.

This will be Rocco Forte’s first hotel in Puglia and will complement the Group’s Italian offerings in Rome, Florence and Sicily. Located near Savelleteri di Fasano, close to the Adriatic coast, surrounded by groves of ancient olive trees and a 9 hole executive golf course, the resort is an original masseria dating back to the 16th century. A six million euro investment will greatly enhance the resort that will include a refurbishment of the existing rooms adding a number of junior suites and suites bringing the key count from 30 to 40 units.

Olga Polizzi, Director of Design for Rocco Forte Hotels will work closely with local artisans to redesign the interiors to create a unique sense of place. All units will have landscape views to be enjoyed from their private garden. The hotel will feature a sunset rooftop bar, a stylish restaurant overlooking the swimming pool, 9 hole executive golf course, fitness centre, kids club, access to a private beach club nearby and meeting and event space.

"Puglia is one of Italy’s greatest treasures, a land of extraordinary architecture, colour, intense flavours and untouched nature. Masseria Torre Maizza is a beautiful place which combines all the deepest traditions and revelations of Puglia and we look forward to offering an experience that combines the highest levels of Rocco Forte service and hospitality in a place of character and unique beauty," says Sir Rocco, Chairman of Rocco Forte Hotels.

With its medieval hilltop towns, olive groves, vineyards, authentic cuisine and beautiful coastline, Puglia has become a popular Italian destination for the discerning traveller. The resort will offer guests a wealth of local, tailor made experiences to choose from as well as the ability to take advantage of the resorts activities that range from golf, horseback riding, sailing, yoga, culinary experiences and much more. Masseria Torre Maizza is located close to the idyllic villages of Ostuni and Alberobello and 50 km from both Brindisi and Bari airports.

Rocco Forte Hotels worked together with Cushman & Wakefield to secure the property.
